  1. To all who no longer footprint the newborn, is there any other form of identification done and has anyone checked into the footprint as an identification. Is it truly a reliable source?

could I ask what is your unit size?how many ldrp's do you have and do you have long term antepartums on your unit? how do you staff in the ldrp setting if you have a labor pt that is going to deliver do you also have other pt's assigned to you so that when your pt delivers you have more than that mother/baby pair and if you have other pt's how do you care for them with an active labor pt and doing a delivery and recovery of that pt? would appreciate any info .......thanks

  4. how do you schedule your nurses in the ldrp setting? HOW DOES THE PATIENT CARE PROCESS WORK FROM ADM TO DISCH?I would appreciate your input as the hospital where I work has ldrp but just doesn't flow right and staff is not satisfied. We have to be doing something wrong....
  5. I am currently an RN in a high risk ob setting where we accept many transports from outlying area's as we have a neonatal icu.4 years ago we transitioned to ldrp's.Prior to this we had a labor/delivery unit and transfered mother/baby (after a 2hr recovery)to the pp unit which also housed our ante-part. pt's. I am doing a research project on ldrps vs seperate area's in high risk obstetrics. I would appreciate any feedback on your current patient care process or if you have changed to or from either and what works and why?
