  1. Hi Capsaicin! Can you or anyone provide more insight on what is expected on the Job Shadow portion of the interview. What went on? Do you just follow a nurse around and ask questions? Do they ask you to perform any actually assessments like a ahead to toe assessment? I have interviewed for a position that I got in the past but it was not a formal 1-3 hour shadow portion. It was more like the manager had me walk around to tour the unit talk to some other RNs on my own about their experience there. Anything I wanted to ask. I could not see it lasting more than an hour really. Anything is appreciated! Thank you!
  2. Kporro, USF regular undergrad admissions did not get back to me in time for me to apply to their nursing program so I withdrew overall. I put in my deposit at Drexel Univ in Philly. I'm from South Florida so relocating would be easier for me. But yes you're right they should let us know soon so that we can secure housing of some sort. I applied to George Washington (nursing is in VA but close to DC) and was wait listed. I've had positive responses overall but the fact that I'd start in May makes UM my first choice overall although I think I'd like the move to Philly. Lets hope we find out good news soon!
  3. Hi all! I have already found out and was placed on the wait-list so no exact date of when everyone should find out. Good luck to those waiting. I think that's a good sign and probably means you're competitive.
  4. Hi Kporro! I called them on Thursday just to make sure everything was ok and they said that they haven't made a decision yet. We would start the second week of May which is soon and they have 100 spots. The early decision group has taken up close to 40 so that means that there are 60 spots left. :-/ hope we find out soon. I've put in my deposit at another program that starts in the fall but I'd rather just start now.
  5. Hi! I actually already had my phone interview last week. They emailed us to schedule a phone interview if we lived over an hour away from the campus. I live in Florida. We should find out by the end of March and will have a deadline to decide of May 1st. Seems pretty competitive. There were over 40 applicants that were interviewed by phone and who knows how many were interviewed in-person.
  6. Hi All! I applied for the March 1st deadline so I will not find out until later. I live in Florida and am familiar with Miami. As far as I know, Miami is pretty much like L.A. public transport so you will need a car to make life easier. Hoping to get in #fingerscrossed
  7. Hi all! I am also anxiously awaiting for the decision. Does anyone know the acceptance rate into the program?
  8. Hi All! I also applied to the program and have everything checked off and everything should've been received. However, I do not have the recommendations letters checked off but they are not there either. Does anyone have them present? Also, is anyone worried about the total program costs? I'd love to go and it is my top choice but 80k is definitely something to think about.
  9. Hi All! I received a phone call in early February and was offered an interview date for February 16th or March 16th. I live in Florida and wanted a bit more time and will be attending my interview on March 16th. Can anyone offer any insight with regards to their interview and the type of questions they asked. Anything will help! I will be driving overnight so I hope not to be too tired. Thanks!
