  1. Thanks so much! Good luck to you too ?
  2. We all want to help people, but is there something or some other reason that's pushed you even more towards becoming an RN? For me personally, I've always been a people person and love being around others. But my biggest reason for going into nursing is because of my car accident. I was t-boned on my drivers side by a lady in her truck who was talking on her phone. We were going around 50 mph. This changed my life. I lost my car and my mental and physical health was altered. I was diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder and went through 5 months of intense therapy. I also suffered a cervical sprain, thoracic paraspinal injury, whiplash, and I now have scoliosis all because of my muscular damage. Anyways, as you could imagine I went through a lot emotionally and physically. The thing is, I made it. I made it through and I lived. Becoming a nurse will allow me to be on the receiving end of an individual who has gone through something traumatic just as I did. I want to help someone through an extremely vulnerable and exposed situation like my nurses, doctor, physical therapists, and therapist did. So what about you? Why nursing? ?
  3. Danskos! Or really good running shoes. I was in a bad car accident, so I have a bad back. But both these shoes help me stay comfortable throughout the day :)
  4. I think this is one of the hardest things for me going through nursing school. I'm a huge animal lover. Like yourself, I have no problem working with cadavers, but it bugs me with animals
  5. Props to you!! I would seriously be a a cry baby in oncology lol.
  6. I'm with ya! Scrub nurse would be an amazing job to specialize in. I don't know about pay at Hopkins, but for me my main focus is just nursing. I think we'd all like to be paid more, but I know I'd be extremely honored to even work there! And getting that kind of hands on experience from a major hospital would be amazing.

  9. That sounds awesome! Good for you for wanting to teach :)
  10. Score! You'd definitely have your hands full in Chicago.
  11. You could totally do it :) Traveling nurse has always been intriguing to me. I'd love to travel internationally and work that way. A lot of countries need great medical care.
  12. Lol good answer! I'll take whatever I can get, but my ultimate goal is to work at one of those hospitals at some point during my career :)
  13. If you could work at any hospital or clinic in the nation, where would it be? For me, I'd die to either work at Mass Gen, Johns Hopkins, Harborview, or Brigham and Women's. You?
