  1. since when did CNA make less than waitresses???
  2. I doubt anyone will give it a second thought. Not many people think, "wow that's a nice car they must be an LPN" LOL unless you say, "hey im an lpn with this car." in which case you may as well go all the way and mention it took you ages of saving money...
  3. I am really paying attention to these answers because I'm 24 and I have three kids, age 5, 3, and 1. I have an extremely supportive husband and his mother, so I am hoping I can do this :)
  4. I'm gonig for my LPN at a vocational school, so I don't have any "re req's" right now. After I work LPN for a couple years and all my kids are in school, I plan to go back for my RN :)
  5. any LPN in Oklahoma?? There is so many to read through, but I didn't see any from what I did read :)
  6. I noticed that on my pamplet talking about the costs. I was like WHAT?? I was a little confused, but i'm sure there is a good reason :)
  7. I am enrolling in the Chickasha Votech and I wanted to hear any details about what to expect, or how it's going there... I am very nervous and can't wait :) Are the education requirements diferent per state, or the same?
  8. I am 24, I kinda know what you mean (i haven't even passed my TEAs yet lol) Only it's not , "oh man I'm old" it's more like... oh man, I'm already 24... I wasted six years where I could have already done this. and it makes me feel "old", but not in a wrinkled kind of way lol Does that make any sense??
  9. I actually am the one that posted that thread but thank you. It did help a lot when I was using it, I just don't understand how to balance chemical equasions yet I'm feeling tons better than I was when I posted this lol Sounds silly, but today I was getting my kids' school supplies and I splurged and got me some highlighters, post its, and various other "school supplies" for mommy and it put me in a really pumped up mood I feel like a student already and I'm back in the study swing dumb really, but hey it worked!
  10. That's wonderful! Congratulations vgny914 :) that's an inspiration for me, because i bombed the practice test online (science) and I'm feeling horribly discouraged right now D: Good luck on the interview :)
  11. I keep telling myself, "you need to go study now" over and over, and yet I still haven't gotten off this couch! I feel so discouraged right now, I feel like I just can't do it. I am 24 years old, and I have 3 kids. I am a stay at home mother who's been on disability for epilepsy all my life. Just this year it was decided that I no longer suffer from the seizures, so I will be off of social security soon. I am determined to become an LPN (maybe in the future an RN), and it's something I really want. My husband and I have struggled with our income ever since our first child, and all I've ever heard was, "well you should of thought about that before having more kids". That doesn't really help! We are not on food stamps, or any other government assistance program except medical for our children, and I'm being criticized for trying to recieve a federal grant? I dropped out of high school when i was in 9th grade, because I had so many seizures and was so depressed. I got my GED in 2006, but honestly hadn't used any educational knowledge since then. I feel like my head is packed with ABCs and 123s from my children, and nothing else. I've studied my butt off for 3 months and pretty much everything in the ATI manual makes sense to me, except the chemistry sections. I was feeling so proud of myself. And then I took an online practice test from ATI. I failed it. (mostly due to the science section. oh my gosh i was not prepared for that!) What if I fail the real test? I don't want to let my kids down, I don't know what to do. I have NEVER worked a job my entire life. when I first started to study the manual I didn't know anything in that book. I completed the book twice, and feeling so good about myself. So, why did I fail the practice test?? Some of what I saw wasn't even covered iin the book, and this has me SCARED!! It may seem silly, but I'm kind of panicing.
  12. did you pass?
  13. on top of the fee they will charge you to take the actual exam! I agree this seems steep. I probably will take at least one practice exam though...
