$1302 every two weeks? =/
Politely tell your recruiter no thank-you, and go with another agency, that's ridiculous.

Anyone know Liquid Agents?
I have been 'talking' to Liquid agent for over a year now and l have a recruiter, but every now and then I get a cold call from someone and I have to remind them that in almost 1year I have not had a job offer. This last time, they called and said they needed to update my file, still nothing. Maybe this time next year they will have something for real.

NursesRX doesnt pay weekly?
I have worked few assignments for Nurserx/AMN, the last one I worked for them was at OSF in Peoria, IL, where I was paid biweekly, something which my recruiter neglected to tell me until I didnt get a check the first Friday.

Travel nurse contract - stay or go? Please help...
I am currently doing an assignment in a teaching hospital in Central IL, this is the worst hospital ever and I have been traveling for 5years. I did a 6month stint at a 25bed hospital and it was the absolute best in terms of patient care. So the size of the hospital has nothing to do with what goes on inside that hospital

Agency earning opportunities
for years l only worked agency and l made a decent living, but l had more than one agency l was working with and in between l would do a contract here and there. I only worked agency because l had small children and needed to work a different schedule every week or so, working agency allowed me to work according to my children's schedule. And l cleared no less than 60K every year.

Febrile oncology pt to transfuse or not? Help!!
hi everyone out there, I need an answer to this problem which is threatening to split the unit in half. We are a med-surg unit and an oncology pt with a plt of 5k was brought in with orders to transfuse2 units plts and 2 units PRBC, when night shift came 1830-0700, he hadnt rec'd his plt nor PRBC, his temp at this time was 101.5, md was notified, gave orders to transfuse when temp is below 100, all night pt's temp stayed above 100 even with the administration of tylenol ES as ordered. Did l mention that pt came on the unit with an order to premedicate with regular tylenol and benadryl before transfusion. What would any of you oncology nurses have done with this pt? Thanks for any help you provide.

new Grad wants to quit
Jenna, l agree with Dixielee, you will have bad days in nursing no matter how long you have been a nurse. One other thing l would add is, regardless of what happens at work, do not take it personal. Being a new nurse does not make you a stupid person just a person who is new into nursing, give yourself time to grow. Don't be embarrased to ask lots of questions because that is the only way you will learn and don't try anything new without asking for clarification or assistance just to prove that you know it. Goodluck.

St Louis and Southern IL agencies
Thanks misschelei, l work straight agency and right now l make $47 tele weekdays and $53 weeknights and $38 weeknights med-surg and $40 weekend med-surg, but lately l have gotten tired of the long drive to work (l drive about 1hr in the evenings and 1.5hrs in the mornings back from work) and l want a slower pace of life, plus l can buy my house outright when l move. Now l am thinking if the pay cut is going to be worth it considering l have 5children in tow. What do you guys think?
