  1. I too, have not heard anything! Keep applying everyone and good luck :)
  2. Hi Guys - Wow! Crazy that they are only hiring 5 people!!! I applied for this residency on a whim, because I found out about it right before the application opened. I am originally from Michigan, attended the University of Michigan and am looking to go anywhere, as long as its a Children's Hospital! I have also applied to Peds residencies in Texas (Dallas and Ft. Worth), Denver, Salt Lake City, Omaha, Atlanta and Detroit. I had an interview in Texas, but did not get the position. But I do have an interview in Detroit next week. Fingers crossed for all if us!!
  3. Hi Mac2014 - I just applied! Do you know when we can expect to hear anything? I know the application was only open yesterday and today! I'm actually from Michigan, how about you? I just graduated on Saturday and hoping to take the N-CLEX the last week of June!
  4. I just got notification that my application was passed onto the hiring manager from the recruiters! Sounds like good news. Anyone else??!
  5. Hi all - I am from Michigan and will be graduating from the University of Michigan in May, so I'd obviously be making a big move out West to CO, if I happen to get the job. I have babysat for over 8 years, but have been babysitting weekly for a family here in town for the past 3 years. I also had to opportunity for an summer nurse externship at Mott Children's Hospital here in Ann Arbor this past summer and I currently work on the Child and Adolescent Psych unit at Mott Children's. My top 3 units were: Oncology, General Medical/Surgical and Surgical/Rehab/Neurology Has anyone heard anything back at all?!
  6. Anyone know how they have been contacting? By phone or e-mail? I still have not heard anything either. Mine also still says application received!
  7. I applied on March 23 and have not heard anything further. My application status is currently "Application Received"
  8. Awesome! Ok, thank-you so much!
  9. Hi all - I just discovered the GAPP program that is offered at Phoenix Children's and it seems like an awesome program! However, I can't find any dates about when the application opens, etc. I called and spoke to someone in HR today and she made it sound like there was not a specific application for the program and that I just needed to apply for any "Clinic Nurse" job postings that I qualified for...However, this seems weird to me. Anyone have any inside scoop about the program, if they are running it this summer/fall, how the application process works, etc??
  10. Hi all - I'm graduating in May, but am actually from Michigan! Never actually been to Atlanta for more than just driving through, but I just applied as well!
  11. Unfortunately I have not Getting a bit worried...Anyone else?
  12. Any idea how many people they interviewed? They told me they typically have cohorts of about 15 residents...
  13. Makes me feel a little better knowing that we might not get a call until Friday though!!
  14. Hope everyone's interview went well! Mine was over Skype, which was a bit weird, but it was the best option with such late notice. I would have LOVED a tour though! I also have not heard anything...If we do not get an offer, will we also hear by Friday the latest? I'm assuming they make offers to everyone first and then send rejection emails on Friday or Monday??
  15. Good to know! I've actually never been to Texas! It seems like an awesome hospital though. Trying to prep for this interview, not really sure what to even expect! Good luck tomorrow :)
  16. Thanks! Same to you! Mine is a Skype interview since I'm in Michigan. Mine is Wednesday morning. Are you from Texas?
  17. I received a phone call yesterday to set up an interview! You?
  18. Hey everyone - Thanks so much for replying and leaving tips for those of us just applying. I'll be graduating in May and will be applying for the program in March when it opens. Sassy29RN - thanks for all of the tips about applying! **Any other tips for the cover letter or resume? **How long were your cover letters? I feel like mine could be 2-3 pages with all of the info they ask for! Just wondering how you are all liking the program now that you've been in for about 6 months. Is it as great as you thought it would be? :) Thanks!
  19. Hi All - I'm just starting on my application for the June 2014 Cohort Residency program at Cook Children's Hospital. Anyone else out there also applying? Any Texas nursing students out there? I'm from Michigan and don't really know much about the program or the hospital. Also wondering if there's anyone out there who has applied in the past or has gone through the program in the past.
  20. Hi daisygirl5 - I'll be graduating in May from nursing school at U of M and am looking into the program at Sparrow. When does the application go up to apply? Just wondering. I'm assuming the program starts in the fall for May/Spring graduates? Thanks!!
  21. I've been having the same struggle. Most of the advice I've been getting my nursing school advisor is to NOT include clinical experience, because every nursing student has similar clinicals and you can mention clinical experience in an interview. However, if you're applying for certain jobs (peds, OB, psych) you could include certain clinical experience under the "Experience" category. Tailor you resume and what's included to the job you're applying for. It killed me to delete all of my clinical experience, but it saved a ton of room! Hope this helps :)
  22. I also just received my "No" e-mail as well. Congrats to those who were accepted and good luck to everyone else with summer plans and your futures as a nurse :) Good luck in the final few semester of nursing school!
