  1. No I did not yet. I will do so today.
  2. Thank you so much for the info. I have a BA in something else so I am hoping to get my BSN done quickly. The plus about Kaplan is I can do some of my MSN courses while doing my BSN since I have most of the electives.Kaplan is a bit more expensive...
  3. Anyone have an opinion about the WGU RN to BSN program or the Kaplan RN to MSN program? I want to get my Nurse practitioner eventually. Anyone do any research/comparisons on these programs?
  4. I may be approved for a stafford loan. Does anyone know anything about them? I know they are a federal loan. It states I may be eligible for 12,500. Is that 12,500 a year or for my whole BSN. I have never done this before. Any help would be great!!!! I paid for Nursing school on my own but was very blessed to go to college many years ago and get a bachelors in another field on my fathers tab. Any suggestions for financing and grants etc...
  5. I moved from the ER to the OR a little over a year ago. I took the periop 101 class. I do still work int the ER per diem. I have discovered in my one year, actually in the first few weeks, that OR nurses are a different kind of nurses. It seems to be a little world unto itself. The OR as a whole seems to be more dramatic. I am not saying I do not like it or the staff, by any means, I have a great respect for some of the nurses. I became a charge nurse within this year so I see a little different view also. Anyone else have this experience in the OR?
  6. Thank you very much and I will. Going to continue my education and get my BSN and masters. I have a BA in something else so it will not take quite as long. I had hoped being a charge nurse in the OR and an RN in the ED would qualify me for the OR position for which I applied, maybe I need to become more valuable in general. More education is never bad for forward motion. Thank you again.
  7. They did not notify me, I checked the status of my application and it stated "another applicant has been chosen for the position but an offer has not yet been made" I was very disappointed. I am a charge nurse in the OR and work per diem in the ED so I had hoped I was qualified for the position.
  8. Thank you for the good wishes and information everyone. Didn't get the job, very bummed but will keep trying.
  9. Obviously I am a little ridiculously excited and hopeful. Not normally so high strung about any thing.
  10. YAY BVFD 333. I have actually been trying to get in touch with you. I left a message on one of your boards. I cannot send a message privately yet. Do you love it? I am really hoping to get the position, as stated in earlier messages. I am so hoping it does not take 80 days to find out. Do they call you? email? where do you work. Feel free to send me a message I am sure I could respond. any info would be greatly appreciated. Shift length, hiring freezes etc!!!! Thanks so much!!!
  11. I think you would be just fine. You may even enjoy a change from your norm. I worked as an ED nurse in a level 3 and in a level 2. i enjoy it immensely. I work in the oR full time now and stayed on Per Diem in the ED. I enjoy my weekly shift in th ED. It will be different. i do not work in an ICU and have very limited experience. You will bring a wealth of knowledge with you though. Take a chance, you may find you are a better nurse for it.
  12. Hi lunahrh. quite well written. Do you know much about online RN-BSN programs? which ones are the best etc/ I have a dual bachelors in other fields so it may not take me quite as long. I am hoping to get out of chemistry for now also. I also have some questions for you about the army nursing. you respnded to a few of my questions from one of my topics. thanks a ton!!!
  13. Is it really worth it to get my CORN? Monetary or otherwise. I am not lazy and am always looking to learn more and more but it is a time factor. would I be better off utilizing my time for other things? does it make me more valuable in general?
  14. I have some questions for you about working as a DoD nurse in germany. I am hoping you may be able to help me.
  15. Thank you for the information and the good wishes. I greatly appreciate the responses. I have to say I am a little confused since they posted the position. I am hoping that hiring freezes will not be the case. I have a job, two in fact so I am in no major rush other than very excited for new experiences for my family and myself. I could wait and reapply if necessary. I hope to hear something soon. I have been rated which is something. so I wait...
