Accepted to the LPN program in FL
Great Congrats! Our class is graduating in February, so we still need our books, but I know there is a class graduating in June and some of them may be interesting in selling them, you just have to contact the school...

Wondering what nursing school gear i should get
I went ahead and spent a little extra money and bought the Littmann Classic SE II (many nursing friends said it's what they used in school and some still have theirs), I've been wondering about shoes though and which ones will be most comfortable, as far as I know they will tell us about scrubs on the first day of class. I just wish they would have had something like an orientation before the first day to give us an idea of what to expect!

That's great! I am ready to start! I have all my books, and purchased a littmann classic II stethoscope. I have also heard the same about the clinicals being Mon-Wed, with class on Thurs-Fri. There is a uniform store in Clermont, which is where i live, there is also one over in Leesburg, called Lake Uniforms, and from what my friend who is an RN says, they give a student discount, not sure about the one here in Clermont though!

Stethoscope Engraving
I just bought a littmann classic II for nursing school from the same sight, i had it engraved with my name and a heart at the end, because like the other poster said, it just shows a little personality, so i don't see it unprofessional at all.

Thanks for this great advice!

Yeah I figured you would still have to test. I am thinking about it and working as a cna on weekends only, and leaving my job in retail, cause once school starts I will only be working weekends anyway.

I agree, and be on time!!! The girl who was supposed to interview before me was over 30mins late, so she had to sit and wait while they took me in to interview!!! @VictoriaFL84 after the CNA portion of the program are you able to get a job as a cna?

Ready to start
Thanks for the advice, I would not have thought about the NCLEX vs School wording on test!! and I have bought plenty of highlighters!

Ready to start
My program LPN starts March 14, and I am so ready! I went to the school (Lake Tech) today and applied for their in house scholarships and got registered for the first semester, and just purchased my first book online, and other advice on supplies I should buy other than the obvious, highlighters, sticky tabs, etc... like what is a good stethoscope (if you are a lake tech student are there any color restrictions?) good white scrubs that are not see through!! any helpful info appreciated? also if anyone knows of any scholarships or places I could go for sponsorship would be great too!

I do have a couple of questions, but since I have not posted 15 topics I can't private message yet, so here they are. 1-how much time do you spend studying 2-are clinical's as tough as everyone says they are 3-does lake tech allow laptops in the classroom. 4-are you allowed to have any colored stethoscope or does it have to be black? 5-where you able to find white scrubs that are not completely see through?
