hi next! i'm a 1st yr ASN student and was waitlisted last year. the first letters went out on Valentine's Day, then the 2nd ones were released sometime in May. i was at the "top-top" part on the list and May was when i got in. nerve-wracking, to say the least! but the list continued to unload in June and July, according to my friends. idk about August, but it does happen... to the point of a few days AFTER school had started.

I am a 30-something Filipino ex-pre nursing student who'll be starting a Georgia nursing program in the fall. With only 7 years of US residency, I never had American instructors back in the Philippines, but nevertheless have recognized only competent instructors, regardless of their nationalities. My first med micro prof was a brilliant American researcher, who read pages and pages of slides, who's class I just had to drop along with 75% of the class. But a Korean prof held a full house with raving reviews. This said, regard all instructors as the professionals which they are: Some suck at teaching, while some inspire. "Instructor review" websites have become an invaluable tool for me in picking the best instructor in my school.

I was contacted by email by the Nursing Counselor that some minor stuff on my Medical Report form was missing. Since I'm out of the country, they've extended my deadline to Aug. 1st. :-) They've been very accommodating with me due to my circumstances (I won't be back till July 29th.).

I know how you feel! I'm on vacation, but my mind keeps wandering to nursing stuff. :-) :-) :-)

I'm from the Philippines with a previous Bachelor's degree in Information and Computer Science. As for your core vs. nursing registration questions, I would email the department secretary or the Nursing counselor. They would be in the best position to give you some direction as to the schedule of nursing classes, etc.

UNG has undergraduate and graduate tuition rates, but it didn't specify a rate just for Nursing. Also, they differ from campus to campus: Dahlonega has the highest tuition rate as compared to Gainesville, Cumming, and Oconee. Under the undergraduate schedule of fees, the bachelors track is more expensive than the associates track, but the cost caps @ 15 hours. http://northgeorgia.edu/UNGDahF13TuitionFees/ Hope that helps. :-)

thanks! :) ok, NikkiT09 had her Banner info changed to "ASN Accepted into the Program," but mine stayed the same: "ASN/Pre-Nursing, Nursing." For those of you who got accepted, how long did your Banner info change after you confirmed your acceptance?

I have a BS in Information and Computer Science, but decided to be an RN after 11 years of being a stay-at-home mom to our 10-year-old 5th grader and to our 6-year-old 1st grader. My super supportive husband helped with the chores and the kids while I did my core classes as a pre-nursing student at 35. Now at 37 and after being waitlisted twice, I finally got accepted into the ASN program last week! :-) :-) :-) I'm excited to be an RN in 2 years, then bridge into the RN-BSN program while working. I don't know... biologically, I'm 37 but in my heart I still feel 27! :-) :-) :-)
