  1. I loved history but it didn't tell me anything i will find useful in nursing so far. I do agree that writing, and computers , especially the maths and sciences.are beneficial. I think for the level of math we are doing in nursing some schools require too far advanced math for nursing. I've seen different maths with different schools.
  2. Yep that's my goal. The adn program is 2 years at my school which isn't bad. They have 1 semester if pre reqs for the program but each of those also require pre reqs like biology in order to take anatomy and college algebra in order to take chemistry so on and so forth. I wish a degree really did take only 2 years that would be nice!
  3. I know a family member with this and was unfortunately fell victim as a child. Its horrible when all you can do is watch and have no control over the situation. Luckily i was able to release the grips of this person but they still suffer with it.
  4. The schools req not my gpa.
  5. Mine is minimum 2.0 but iys super competitive with points requirements and hesi scoring.
  6. I am taking anatomy this fall and we will dissect cats.
  7. Someone told me stats is actually a science. I dont know how true that is
  8. Stupid phone clinicals
  9. Most associates require clinicles. I would be afraid of any rn coming at me with an iv of medications who did not do any clinicles!
  10. We are from the east coast with overprotective parents so Oklahoma was amazing news lol. I married air force but my family is full of marine and army vets. Boy did my hubs get an ear full lol.
  11. Its closer to texas than okc. Okc is about 3 hours east of altus. I actually do like it here. Some of the people aren't firing on all sparkplugs but other than that its a good place for a family. Lawton is about 45 minutes away and there's plenty to do there. There's a walmart , sears, jcpenney, and a few clothing stores. A lot if people who get stationed here have been here for 5-10+ years.
  12. I am not a math wiz either. I'm struggling with intermediate algebra. I feel confident that nursing math is ratios fractions and percentages.
  13. Wow that sounds amazing! We are at altus afb and there are literally tumbleweeds blowing around here. This place reminds me of a modernized old west town lol. I wish we had something like that. I really do like my school though. I also plan to go for my bsn.
  14. Congratulations on your accomplishment. I have an 18 month old and being a sahm through the nursing program scares me due to the intensity. I hope that doesn't sound bad. Its amazing to think he will be 4 almost 5 when i finish.
  15. My prerequisites are going faster than i expected. I'm almost done with my second semester. I try not to think it would be a.total of 3 years of school.
