  1. And sorry for the typing- yikes! I'm on my phone lol.
  2. Wow. Thanks for the info. I posted this thread when my fiancé applied to OSU for grad school. I'll be done in May (will find out at the en if this month where I'll be looking for a job at). I was excited about him maybe string into OSU- we have a lot if family there and are originally from Ohio- so well see...in a little nervous now lol!
  3. Thanks for the information. Best of luck on the job hunt!
  4. Great!!! And thank you :-)
  5. Great, thanks for the information! My fiancé is waiting to hear if he got accepted into OSU (which is the one we want him to get into out of all our options!), so fingers crossed. We are both originally from Ohio, but live in FL (RN pay in central FL is crap for new graduates). And good luck in you NCLEX (if you haven't already taken it- I'm a little late, oops!)
  6. Go for it! I am also an LPN, and will be entering my last semester of the RN bridge in January :-) it is very hard work, but you truly can do anything you set your mind to! Many of my classmates have jobs and kids at home (I have no kids, just a husband- he's enough for right now lol). It is time Consuming and tedious at times, but will be very much worth it for your future and your kids' futures :-) good luck in your pursuits.
  7. I believe that it truly depends on the individual them self. I worked 35 hours a week serving tables while going through my LPN program. Now, I am in the LPN to RN bridge program (with only 1 semester left!) and I am working full time still (three 13 hour shifts/week). I do not have kids, but am engaged and have a home to keep together. My fiancé is Rey supportive and helps out wherever possible. My biggest issue was not grades, but getting to spend time with my future hubby. We have manipulated our schedules to the best of our abilities, but still don't get as muh time together as we would like (and we live together lol)...but hey, we realize that I'll be done soon, and it IS worth it. There are many people in my class that do not work or only work 10 or so hours a week because it is just too much for them. I think of it as a system of checks and balances, priorities, and time management :-)
  8. Thanks again :-)
  9. Thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it. I do have one last question. I've heard "through the grapevine" that many of the hospitals in Columbus are "flooded" with nurses (which is hard to believe because we have such a nursing shortage here). Any thoughts, information?
  10. Great, thanks. Would you happen to know if the hospitals do shift differentials? They don't down here- night and weekend pay is the same as regular base pay :-/
  11. Thank you :-)
  12. Did not mean to make this an article- sorry guys, a little new here :-x
  13. Okay- I believe every person has a right to their own opinion, and I respect everyone's opinions. Quick question- I have tattoos (three of them- one very small and two larger ones), but they are ALL in places that cannot be seen when wearing normal, everyday clothing (meaning that I don't have to wear anything special to hide them). Is that unbecoming? I love my career choice, and would never purposely do anything to disrespect others. I love "body art", and I love my ink, it is all meaningful and has a purpose.
