  1. I can't really speak on how much fasfa wld pay but I do know its around $84 or $85, 000 for their bsn prog. I went on a tour lasy Summer and fell I m love until insaw the bill :-/ I don't remember them requiring any pre reqs however they will make u take A&P (as apart of their core courses) there which for whatever reason is split into four classes rather than the norm of three. I spoke with several Nurses who believe that their program is expensive but to look at them as a plan C or D if my first prog picks fall thru. I agree with the above posters, check Chamberlain's course schedule and take as many of their 'pre-reqs' as u can else where. Its certain to be affordable then... Good luck! Elle
  2. Mchel210 u have quite a schedule! Ur post really helped me! Everday I'm reminding myself that I can do it. I guess the amount of info and my prof constantly reminding us of the success rate of her class can really be intimidating. This is by far the most difficult class I've ever taken and I have two more that promise to be more difficult but I want my BSN more than anything so I'm gonna make it do what it do and get busy! Thank y'all again! Elle
  3. Thx so much Kat!!! :-) Elle
  4. Soooo a month ago I was super excited about finally getting into my Sciences. This week marks the first week of classes and I must say for the first time since starting my pre-reqs in 2011 (I'll be done this Fall) I am shaking in my boots! I don't work but I do have a family and school aged kids so I have the time needed but I'm worried I won't or can't retain alllllllllll the information we need to know. I formed a study grp but my Prof isn't all that encouraging she reminds us every class that 50% of us won't make it to midterms. O_o Have any of u taken it? Any study tips? Thx. Signed, I need a drink!!!!!! Elle
  5. Thank you^^^ I'm really excited about the class. Elle
  6. I'm happy for you, I started back at 29. Sit with an advisor and map out your course plan and take it semester by semester. Maintain a good gpa. Before you know it, it will be time to apply to programs! Much luck to you!!!! Elle
  7. Ok I'll refresh that. I remember seeing those kinds of problems on a Kaplan test and it seemed kind of easy... Elle
  8. Ok, my math skills really suck! When I started school I was placed in a LS math 97 class. It took me two attempts to finally pass w/a 'C' only to go to the next level of LS math 98. Which I flunked before just transferring to another school! By the grace of God I took the Compass at another school and PASSED and was finally eligible to take college level math. Ofcourse I was thrilled to find that Math Modeling was an option instead of suffering thru College Algebra. My question is how much of a factor is math in the Nursing field day to day??? Am I cheating myself by taking the 'easy route' or is it a necessity to take College Algebra? My plan is to finish with my BSN work for a few years and go back for my MSN around mid 40's. Elle
  9. Im gonna research that coloring book. What's the name/author? Elle
  10. You won't!!! We're too close! :-)) Elle
  11. Will do! I start school again in a little over 4 wks although I'm thankful for this break I'm stoked about finally getting into the knitty-gritty! Elle
  12. Thank you for asking this question! I'm 31 and the ONLY one of all my friends who doesn't have any type of degree. I started school full time at age 29 (I had taken classes here and there with no real goal in mind) and this is the closest I've ever been in earning my bsn. That last sentence still intimidates me but I at this point I'm a better student than I ever was in h.s. This thread has really helped me in my anxiety about my age while in school! Elle
  13. Thank you for your response that's my biggest motivation. My concerns tho are the lapse in time since my last job in a hospital. Nowadays you have to have certification for what I used to do. All I've gained since that time is college credits. Elle
  14. Hi! Im at full time student, married at home mom of two school aged boys. This spring I'll start my last yr of pre-reqs im taking two classes this spring, a&p 2 this summer and physics and micrbio fall. Im considering getting a job as a patient care asst. I worked as a unit sect for 15 mths a few years ago, and as a patient care asst for a few months (had to quit because I found out I was preggers) its been atleast 5 years since I worked in a hospital setting but I'm hoping that my time and experience plus the fact that I am a pre-nursing student will make me desirable and show my potential as a future nurse. Should I just continue on my path to my BSN full time without working or can I step back into the workforce and start laying the foundation for marketable resume??? ((((HELP)))) Elle
