  1. THAT WAS WELL PUT
  2. I think anyone who works in a hospital should watch that..I work in a ccu. and i have caught CNA's hanging out in pt rooms that are vented. They tell m e they cannot hear me :angryfire some day i feel like a baby sitter
  3. try nso insurants QUOTE=CrunchRN]Me too - so many conflicting opinions about which is prudent. It is also expensive here in Texas - hate to think about what that means!
  4. ok I am not sure if you are talking about the same thing.. I am talking about ICA Rn who were mean to an LPN
  5. This is a big problem.. I f you are an union I would go to the uion a file a grivince..If not try HR..When if happens again go stright to your NM or call the superviser and sit down right then and there. If your NM said she cannot at this time tell her that you want to go over her head. You have talk to the cowork and your NM, she cannot refuse you b.c it is pt safty.also find out what your hospital policy on notifing a worker anout a problem. most of the time it is verbal, and two written warnings. ask you NM tosee the writen warnings it is you right.
  6. thst does suck.. some icu RN are like that, but remeber it is no NURSING it is the person. I think yo should call them one it .. When youare doig something like helping them or what say see we are not all lazy.. It is just like the bullie in school. Most will back down if you call them on it.
  7. There are do many problems in nusing today. So heard I go.. For one Nursing schools. I think that is should go back to the way it was 20 years ago. More time in hospital and less in the class room. Students comimg out of school have no clue!!! It si very scary.. I work in a teaching hospital and have trainner many new RN's. examples are NewRn"s do not think they have to wash pt or turn they help feed, or anything a cna does. I guess what i am trying to say is they need to know the basics of nursing.Whaen a new nr tells me that she has never put in a foley and was not tought that in school. Iwas shocked. and not knowing medication and reactions ,labs, teaching. Also I think CNA's need to be more accountably if they dod not tell a Rn a pt temp was 101. that if any call light is ringing to get it.They are not at risk of being sued. I went on line to see if any CNA was ever sued and the only thing i could fine was if there was abuse or if the CNA was drinking on the job.. And most of these cases they CNA could come back to work in a few days or went to another hospital to work.. ok i will stop there
