  1. I talked to someone in HR at Parkland this week, about their October residencies. She said that they only have one person going through the applications, but they usually have two, so it may take a little while longer to get an interview date this year. If you are waiting, just keep on waiting, because you may get an email/call still.
  2. You are still upset, because you truly care about the patient. If you didn't, you would be able to just "move on." You are a fantastic nurse and an inspiration to all of us, because we should never feel bad for advocating strongly on behalf of a patient (especially a patient that is so vulnerable and helpless). I'm sure if you were to look up your Nursing Philosophy that you made back in nursing school, you would find that you wanted to be a nurse who would do exactly as you have done!
  3. I think I am in a similar boat to many of you. I start RN-BSN on Sept 1 as well and have 43 CU to complete. About how long do you think that will take if I'm motivated, but also have "life and job" going on as well? Best of luck to each of you who are doing the program!
  4. I called a couple of CRNA programs with this same question as I am also considering WGU. They said that I don't input 3.0, because my transcript will just say "pass". 1 program said they will calculate it as 3.0, but another program said they know how to view it as a "pass" and understand that I did better than 3.0
  5. No way do I want that 9-5 job. One big draw to nursing was the flexible schedule and the chance to work 12 hour shifts :)
  6. Thanks for sharing and congrats! I found the study guide helpful even when taking the NCLEX PN. I will certainly be going over it again before the NCLEX RN in 4 months.
  7. CRNAspire, I see that you went to WGU for your RN-BSN and then got into CRNA school. Did you find that your choices for CRNA school were limited, because of WGU being a pass/fail type school? I am interested in WGU, but I didn't know if having a "pass" grade would hurt my GPA and application if I decided to apply to CRNA schools in the future. Can I ask what CRNA school you are in as well? Thank you very much.
  8. Well the decision about the national accreditation isn't being made until mid-July, but it looks like it may be lost. They are still state-approved, so the students would still be in the same position as those coming out of Centralia, Clover Park, etc... because those schools have also not undergone the optional state accreditation. There are still some great teachers and staff at the school and their hope is that they can use the year or two off to revamp the program and make it a lot better.
  9. I am currently in the program. Finishing up my first year and heading into the second. There is certainly a lot of rumors floating around, but no, the program has not lost their accreditation. They have gone through some rough years over the past few years and they did get put on a "probationary" status, but that was so they would address a few areas in the program. This past year (my year) has been very different and in almost every way, it has been great! The next couple of years will actually be even better for incoming students, because the students have been working alongside the staff to keep making the program better and better.
  10. RollTider, that is great advice. Thanks for sharing!
