  1. I see some people have had some trouble find the group. I have posted a link to the group below. If you still cant find it. You may inbox me your name here and i will add you. Oppy i am going to add you right now. I will continue to check this blog for people needing help navigating this. Sorry for the confusion. Log into Facebook | Facebook
  2. I have created a Facebook group. It's called University of Miami unofficial cohort group 2021 bsn-dnp crna....i had to put something in so that it didn't look like the school created it....so unofficial works lol....
  3. It always happens either now or later. I'm very interested because I will be visiting Miami for the first time this weekend. So, I need info on a lot of things from neighborhoods to seek out to live in and all sorts of things. Seeing as this school receives a lot of out of state people, I know I will not be alone in this. So, the Facebook page would be perfect.
  4. Awesome!!!! I work with quite a few ppl from south GA. I love that Atlanta is such a wonderful mix of cultures. I'm happy and excited for everyone. I can't wait to meet you all in Miami. I'm actually going to visit soon.
  5. Yes, I did later this evening!
  6. Yes, I'm going to UM with you!!!!
  7. Check your canelinks. They are updating!!!+
  8. Yes, it does. I emailed admission office on 04/21/17. She responded immediately.
  9. So, I am joining the nervous party here. I did a web interview on 04/07/17 for the entering class of 2018. OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG... I sent an e-mail and was told that they will be finishing the last round of early admission interviews this week. So, we should receive notices in about 2 weeks.... I am a nervous wreck... I continue to check canelink and my e-mail. I cannot pass the time fast enough. Goodluck to everyone else who still has the interview in front of them. The best advice has been given in this chat already... For those accepted, do you mind sharing a little about your background? What type of unit are you coming from? How many years of experience? I am so nervous.
  10. Hello, I will be applying to the University of Miami's BSN-DNP program in a few months, so I wanted to start this thread. I found this blog site to be very helpful during the time of which I applied for nursing school. Feel free to post her both alums and people like myself who will be applying to the school with me in this spring. I'm interested in knowing more about getting in. What are some of the key points the school focus on? This is aside from the general things listed on the website. I meet all of the basic requirements. For example, another school I'm interested in focused on teaching. So, it appeared those with a teaching background who came from a good ICU were exceptional canidates. I'm nervous and excited about applying and am hopeful that I will get in soon. If anyone would like to share with me specifics on the school, since I have yet to visit that would be very helpful. If I am invited to an interview, I plan to visit in person. I live in Georgia, so it's not a quick drive down. I plan to take the ccrn prior to submitting my app. For those who have been through the program or been accepted, do you all think it makes a difference if you have your ccrn prior to submitting your app? I know the program does not require the GRE, but would it be worth taking it as well? For those accepted, how many years of ICU experience on average do these applicants have? Do you all think the type of experience is considered, for example 2 years in a Level 1 SICU vs 5 years in a small MICU? Please comment with thoughts...
  11. Hello everyone, I am interested in attending Rush for my DNP in anesthesia. Congratulations to you all for being accepted. You are where I hope to be soon. Would any of you be willing to list your GPA, GRE, and important parts of your application that you believe helped you get into the program? Also how many years did you have in the ICU and what type of unit was it? What has been your experience in applying to Rush? Do you only have a BSN or do you have other degrees? I am very interested in this program! I am going to list some details about myself below if you care. Please share if you think there is something that I could do to make myself a strong applicant? i.e. What made you stand out you think? Thank you so much for your input? Congratulations on your awesome accomplishment. Tidbits about me: - BSN degree obtained Spring 2015 (3.2 gpa) - BS biology (3.8) - MAT biology (4.0) - I will be retaking the GRE again (2012 GRE 300 & 3.0) - 1 year level 1 Trauma SICU as a nurse extern and almost 1 year as an RN on that unit - Lots of shadowing experience of AA, CRNA,& PAAA
