Nursing student just got a DUI
this is my favorite post of this topic. to the op: look at this post very closely as it contains many nuggets of wisdom (without any aftertaste). think about what he has to say, and then think about it again. and again. perhaps it will bring to mind principles that you may have overlooked in the ethics course you took in school (i hope your school required one). to nursefirst: you sound like an exceptional nurse! bravo for taking the time to write that wonderful post. all the best!

Macular degeneration...
I've been working with an older adult who has macular degeneration as part of an assignment. Is there anybody out there who has tips on or leads to companies that make kitchen appliances (ovens, microwaves, etc.) that have larger, easier to read dials and numbers. The client loves to cook, but it has become an onus to do so. I'm open to all suggestions! Thanks!

NCLEX-RN Today(265)...Losing hope..Last question
When I finally take the NCLEX, I too will probably feel like you! I'm always my biggest critic... always hard on myself. I feel like I do poorly on all of my exams now, but end up doing well. So, listen to the great advice that all of these wonderful people have been giving (I can tell they're nurses), and treat yourself to something nice (or just relax). I am definitely coming to this website for support when I take the NCLEX!!! You guys make me smile!!!!

Should all nursing students be required to be a CNA for one year?
I agree with Jim Huffman. It's not the role of law to aid one in their journey through life. That is, it does not exist in order to help one realize their likes and dislikes. Another thing, just because someone works as a CNA prior to nursing school, doesn't mean that he or she will like the job five or ten years from now. Likes and dislikes wax and wane like the moon. Perhaps these people who dislike their current position aren't looking hard enough for a place that they may enjoy working at. Nursing has many boulevards for one to travel down. I would suggest to such a person that he or she try looking in different departments or specialties before giving up. And in the end, it's never too late to do something else. It may take some thought and planning, but nothing is impossible to accomplish (barring extreme cases). As Yogi Berra said, "It ain't over, til it's over." All the best to all of you!
