  1. Thanks everyone for your input! At our school, we are not allowed to withdraw. If we get a D/F , they allow us to retake the class and replace the grade
  2. Thank you everyone for the tips! I have absolutely no experience with this; your tips are wonderful! I wil lcall HR - but how do I go about doing that? What would you say?
  3. Hello, thanks for replying! I can't retake with a C. At my school, it is only if you get a D or F that you can retake and replace the grade. Do you know if most nursing schools look at the higher grade, or take an average of the two?
  4. Hello! I'm currently on the pre-nursing path, and am really excited about the idea of going into nursing, but I don't really have direct experience as to what a nurse encounters on a daily basis. Is it possible to shadow a nurse, and see what I am going to face in the future? (if I hopefully get into a nursing program! fingers crossed) And how would that work? Do you just contact different hospitals and ask? If anyone would like to share any experiences, or provide some tips, that would be wonderful! Thank you all so much in advance!
  5. Hello! Since tuition would be higher for out-of-state students, would acceptance rate be higher if you are going out of state? I'm from CA, and I was considering this option in case my gpa is below a 3.4.... Also, how low can your gpa get before most nursing programs do not accept you? And if it is low, can you make it up by doing exceptionally well on the TEAS exam?
  6. Hello everyone! This is for Statistics prereq. Thanks!
  7. Thank you so much for the helpful tips everyone! Do you think Nursing programs look at if you failed a class or not? I think I am getting a C in Stats, and I was wondering, should I just fail and take it again, or just get the C? Do nursing schools average the 2 grades, or do they look at the highest one? Thanks so mcuh!
  8. Just curious, is it true that out of state nursing programs are more likely to accept than CSU programs, which are highly impacted already?
  9. Thank you so much for all the advice! It is so nice to have someone who was from UCD and who has shared the same experience as me. I am still in the Human Development major, and am starting to take my prereqs. I heard that most nursing progams at CSU's are more likely to favor their own students, so is it very hard to get into a nursing school as a UC student...is that true? And if so, is there any way to increase my chances of getting in? Thanks eveyrone! I really appreciate it! I'm trying my best to get good grades in the prereqs, but it's a lot harder that when I took some of them from a community college.
  10. Thank you so much everyone for all the advice! I'm still in the Human Development major right now, and am trying my best in getting good grades at UCD. I heard that most nursing progams at CSU's are more likely to favor their own students, so is it very hard to get into a nursing school as a UC student...is that true? And if so, is there any way to increase my chances of getting in? Thanks eveyrone! I really appreciate it!
  11. Yeah, I know how you feel. Sometimes school just consumes your life. But make sure to balance your time, don't be to stressed - it'll just lower your grades!
  12. Does anyone know the difference between being a physician assistant vs nurse practitioner vs clinical nurse specialist? Which one gets a better pay, how long is each process, etc? Thanks!
  13. Hello everyone, I am currently a sophomore at UCDavis, and am set on doing nursing, but I only figured it out recently. I'm in the Human Development major, and was wondering if I should just transfer out of Davis? Or should I just stay.. Would it be more worth it, etc? If you could give me a few tips/advice, that would be more than wonderful! I met with one of the peer advisors here at UCD, and they said an option would be to just finish my 4 years here, and then go into an accelerated BSN program, but I was thinking that it is such a long process, and money-consuming. I was thinking, would it be a good idea to try to finish in 3 years? And does it matter what major I graduate from? Sorry for the super long message! I'm just so lost. Thanks for all the help!
  14. @saxuhmuhphone, I am currently a sophomore UCD with a human development major, and want to do nursing. Is it too late to transfer to a cc -should I just finish it up since it is already Winter Quarter? At the same time, the tuiton is really expensive. What do you recommend? I tried to message you, but have no idea how to! Thanks so much for your helpful tips!
