  1. Hi Timetogo, You have three more weeks to improve your grade. I currently have a 3.85 GPA and my grade is 88.9% so I feel your pain. We will make it through this course. I want you to try your best for week three ICP and make sure you correct whatever was marked on your paper. I plan to do the same. We have to support each other through this. If your grade does not improve you can contact your professor, advisor or the dean of the University. There is a success center available to online students. You could call them. Here is a link for you. Ohio University RN-to-BSN Knowledge Center This is the best advice I can give you. As you can see, I am also struggling with my grade also. This is the lowest grades I have received. At the end of the day we just need to pass. I have to accept a C if that is what it will take to make it through this class. C=degrees was something a friend told me when I was working on Statistics.
  2. Hi, I forgot to add the study guide that we are suppose to complete is at the end of the book. The answer key follows each chapter test. It states on the syllabus we are to complete the study guide but it does not have to be turned in. It is less time consuming as the nursing classes. I also feel less stressed now. I have not started the diet analysis yet. There are two extra credit items we can do. One is the test for the syllabus and my plate. The syllabus test is due on Monday. Both are located under the assignment tabs. The TA emailed me and said I could call her so I am going to tomorrow to make sure I am on track. Thank you for responding to my original post. I felt alone on the island.
  3. What I have determined so far is that you read two chapters per week. This is stated in the syllabus. The prompt for the discussion board is listed under the discussion board tab. You have to introduce yourself also on another discussion board. In the syllabus, it states that it is highly encouraged to respond to other posts. An email sent today from the facilatator states that you need to make one citation to support any facts used in the discussion board posts. A website can be used as a reference. The study guide is at the end of each chapter with an answer key in appendix G at the end of the book. I could not find one spot that states everything with links to it in one place. It jumps around the whole course. I am confused too. I hope the facilatator can help with clarification. It is evident that many are confused by reading the students helping students section. This is located at the bottom of the discussion board page. I hope this helps others. I have not attempted the diet analysis section on CengageBrain yet. From what I have viewed on CengageBrain, the other section is basically our textbook online. If you have any helpful suggestions it would be appreciated. Hopefully someone that has taken this course will join in our blog. Thank you for writing.
  4. Is anyone taking this course? I cannot make sense of the format being used. It is difficult to figure out what the assignments are for each week, such as, what chapters are to be read. Does anyone have suggestions for this class? This first week about has me. I am not asking for any help completing the assignments just clarification as to what is due each week. If you have already taken this course, any helpful suggestions would be awesome. Thank you..
  5. I contacted the professor for the 5 week junior composition class and he said they will not be offering this in the spring. His class has started so he has no openings for any other students. OU had one 5 week class this fall. I wish I had known about it and registered for it. Nessa74 said the class was not too bad so I will do my best then. I need to graduate in June. Did they put up the spring classes yet?
  6. Anyone here know it they offer an intercession or accelerated online class for the junior composition class? I have looked online. I called Wright State and they do not offer one. Any suggestions? I called OU today and complained about not offering a 5 week class for jr. composition class in the spring. I can see that I am not the only one that feels this way. I will have to also take two classes at a time this spring. The program is suppose to be for "working RN's" with the key word working. I thought the last ten weeks were difficult with work, family, and all the other responsibilies that each person has. No breaks between the classes and no break for Thanksgiving. The next 15 weeks with be awful but I will do what I need to, to succeed.
  7. You need to go back to work and face whatever happens. The least said, the better. I got good advice from my last supervisor. She said to not be defensive, nod your head yes, and learn from your mistake. The DON and the comment just prior to mine was your best advice. Take the bull by the horn, go into your supervisor and find out what he or she is thinking. It is being proactive on your part. I would not discuss this with anyone other than your supervisor. If you have any time during your day or evening, it would be best to review policy and procedure. I worked third shift when I first became a nurse. I read policy and procedure every night during down time. You never know when you may need that information. I am surprised they did not have a seasoned nurse working with you. Did you have any resources available to you? Knowledge is power. The more informed you are about policy and procedure the better it is for you. You will build you knowledge base and continue to layer it as you progress in your career.
