Thank you!!!!

Just finished UWORLD
Even if you remember the wrong answer recite the rational on why it is right and why the others are wrong while you are answering the question. Do it out loud if you can. That worked for me.

Awaiting Nclex Results
Hey everyone!!!! So, Ive finally took my nclex on 3/19/16!!! I was suppose to take it on the 24th but could not wait any longer and decided to take an earlier appointment. Everything went smoothly that day. I got to the center an 1 hour and 45 mins early because my dad wanted to take me to breakfast and drop me off. That was a good thing because I got to start my test at 11 am instead of 12:15!!! My computer went blue after 75 questions!!! To me the test was easy. I had about 4-5 meds calculations, 4-5 sata and the rest was multiple choice. I could not believe that was it. I am confident I passed but it is still that little voice saying, "it was to easy, you had to fail!!!" My best friend picked me up after test and we went to go out to eat and drink. So, now I am just waiting on my results. My school had us do exit exams with ATI and in the end we had to get the "Green Light" with a probability of passing Nclex the first time with 91%. After getting the green light, I used UWORLD to study and finished about 1300-1400 of the questions. Uworld was great as I was not confident about my content. Uworld gave very detailed rationals and very close to nclex. Congrats to all the new nurses out there and for those who are preparing for the nclex, just try to remain calm. Take your time answering the questions and re-read twice if need be!!! Hopefully, I passed as this has been a long journey
- Testing tomorrow!

Dropped last semester before graduation
Thanks everyone for the advice. I figured I was doing the right thing but I still felt bad because I would not be graduating on time.

Dropped last semester before graduation
Has anyone ever felt the need to drop out a semester for a mental break? I am attending or was attending an ADN program and was in my last semester when first I had and accident and got burned to my face and arm. Thank God it was not serious but I did miss two days of lecture and a quiz because of this. After that I received a low score on another quiz and my midterm I failed miserably. I decided to take the whole semester off because I felt I was not focusing anymore. Im a single parent and was still working full time, I became overwhlemed and I was tired. Just wanted to know has anyone ever felt this way before and continued on? Feeling like a punk

I feel so inadequate =(
I am currently in my 4th week of school, 1st year nursing student!!! Yeah me!!! But I dont feel like that now . We have had 2 quizzes so far and each quiz the teacher has dropped three of the questions so we would not fail. Thats great and all but I still feel bad. Now that I know she has dropped several questions, I really feel slow. I am trying different ways of studying but I can only feel complete if I read all 10 chapters I am going to keep it moving but I do understand at times it gets discouraging. Dont give up. You are almost there!!!

Patient Registrar
I agree with smoup. I work too as Patient Registrar and it can be helpful, not as much because we are not clinical. I have learned different medical terms and how to place patient in severity levels. The ED position can give you flexibility as they run 24 hours. Not sure what shift they are offering you, but I am sure you will work it out. Get your foot in the door, become close with the ED staff and establish working relationship with people that can help you further your career.

Shout out to all you nursing students!
Thank you!!! Congrats to you for achieving your goal!!! We have orientation next week and classes start the following week after. I am nervous, happy, and scared all at the same time. We hear so many stories regarding Nursing School and I am scared to fail. I am going to try to take one day at a time and just enjoy it all together. I have already started reading my Fundamentals book to get a head start. YEAH FOR NURSING STUDENTS!!!!

New Student Loans Rules
Update: Had my meeting with FA and just as I thought, it was a deterrent. So I still received my money!!!
-
you will be surprised....
I feel what this post is saying. I have heard this before. The A student sometimes does not turn out to be a good nurse and vice versa. I see nurses that are great academically but they are not good nurses. To me their hearts are not in this profession for whatever reason.

City of Chicago College - Richard Daley Nursing Program 2013 Applicants
Hey everybody, I went today to get my books for Nursing 101. Well the bookstore tried to sell me a sealed box of books, which by the way they didn't know which books were included and told me I couldn't return the books either, if I didn't need them. Come to find out I didn't need the books in that box. I asked them to open it and they gave me a hard time, saying they were not suppose to. But I argued them down and they eventually did. So please be aware of what books you need and are purchasing. The box alone cost $700. That would have been money wasted for me.

Bad reviews vs NO reviews (ratemyprofessor)
Had the same thing happen this past summer for my micro class. I choosed the professor with no ratings. Come to find out she was a new teacher and we were her first class. So we were feeling our way through the class together. It was quite fun and I ended up with a B at the end.

So they are using that as a deterrent. That's what I figured.

Has anyone heard of that the Financial Aid telling students that you are unable to take out student loans if you already have students loans of $15,000 or more?

New Student Loans Rules
Yes I am aware of this after looking up the my cc policies on the federal student loans. I just dont understand why they have not included the information that was told to me regarding the $15,000 student loan limit. I also wonder if they are just using that as an deterrent for students not to take out loans.
