  1. I work in a level III NICU as well, and we check residual or PGA, from the NG with each assessment. Even if a baby is nippling most of their feeds, we will still check a residual before the feeding.
  2. So, I am a new grad that is getting ready to start in the NICU, and I will say that I worked for this position! I found out who the unit manager was and also who ran the fellowship, and I emailed them my resume and cover letter. I heard back from her the next day and had an interview. In my case reaching out worked for me, and I think the unit manager appreciated my drive and ambition to work in the NICU. Good luck to you!
  3. Hello, I just graduated from chamberlain (BSN) program in December. I used a MacBook Air the entire program and only had small issues. I had to downloaded google chrome to access some of the online classes because safari didn't seem to always be comparable when updates would come out. Also with pages on the Mac you are able to save things in a word document in order to submit them, but things that required power points I would send as a PDF because the MAC version did not always switch over well to the power point version. All in all my teachers on campus and online were able to open and grade all my assignments without an issue.
  4. I am a CrossFitter! I live in Missouri and go to a box 6 nights/early mornings a week.. I don't know how else I would blow off stress without it.
  5. I agree with the transition class, but I have to attend it on class. I feel like it is something that could have been integrated into other classes. Once you get the prereqs taken care of for the BSN degree is does get much better. I attend at the STL campus and am extremely happy with my choice for the BSN program. Even if it is a "for profit school" even though I've yet to find a school that doesn't operate to make a profit... Anyone ever been in a campus bookstore? But regardless I hope you stick it out and see that once you get past the prereqs it is a great school that really does care about its students.
  6. Thank you everyone for your responses! I really appreciate taking time to respond for me!
  7. What is everyone's opinion on those books? Have you found one to be better than the other? Or a preference. I start fundamentals soon and would like to get one to start some pre reading done
  8. This semester I'm on campus 2x a week in the morning. The prereq classes and some nursing classes are days and evenings and a lot of online if you like that. I think once the main core nursing classes start they are mainly during the day. I'll find out next semester when I register for that term for sure though. So are you attending the Stl campus?
  9. The entrance exam isn't awful.. But you should study for it. Focus mainly on math like fractions ratios stuff like that. I have had nothing but amazing help from my teachers and peers so far. I'm in an online statistic help that I have needed some help with and my teacher was amazing with me. I have nothing but good things to say about the STL campus. They also have a stellar relationship with most of not all Stl hospitals for clinicals and jobs after graduation. You will here negative things about almost any program people will always find something.. Or if they don't do particularly well they tend to place blame before looking inward. Just my opinion, but I am definitely impressed with how my education is proceeding.
  10. I really like it so far.. I am just starting my second semester and it has been great. I attend the St.louis campus, and they have kept constant accreditation. It's definitely a great school to look at it.
  11. I'm pretty sure it's Jan 6th.. Or whatever the Monday of that week is.
  12. I listen to everything from country to pop to rock while studying! It just depends on my mood, but I have to have that noise or I cannot focus on the readings at all!
  13. It's been going really well I think. Though That midterm had some ridiculous questions on it!
  14. St.Louis
