El Centro/Northlake Fall 2013 Nursing Program
- TCU Accelerated BSN Program - start date 5/15/13
Don't lose hope! I just called and F said they are sending out their last batch of acceptance letters tomorrow so they are not done yet (:- TCU Accelerated BSN Program - start date 5/15/13
I got in!! But i already accepted to somewhere else so hopefully I make someone's day! Congrats to everyone else :)- Baylor fastbacc May 2013
I am interested!! I'm moving from Corpus Christi lol I've been doing a lot of searching for places other than the Marquis because I don't want to share the same room...no offense. Most places want you to wait until 30 days before you move in so I postponed the search for now.- UTA Fall 2013
Has anyone already finished up Intro? How is the final? Is it the same as a quiz?- Baylor fastbacc May 2013
Thank you! There is still hope. What did T say when she called? Maybe they are waiting to send out rejection letters to see who all is accepting/rejecting their acceptance and then going down the list. T did tell me today that they are accepting more than they usually do for fastbacc this time so idk how many but more than 36. Hope your friend hears back soon! Did they apply anywhere else?- UTA Fall 2013
I applied to el centro but I actually just accepted my acceptance to Baylor's fastbacc today. I'm just taking the Intro to nursing for funsies now lol. I would have had one consideration and with all the rules over how many classes you can retake/ how many times you can retake a class my gpa was sort of frozen in one spot for UTA. So if I hadn't gotten into baylor or UTA I would have definitely gone the ADN route. You can always get your BSN eventually, it's obviously cheaper, and probably a bit more room to work while in the program. So if it didn't work out to get my BSN right away I would have started the ADN route over waiting.- Baylor fastbacc May 2013
I got my acceptance today! I can't wait to meet you all at orientation. I'm so excited & I already sent back my acceptance letter (: Congrats to everyone else who got accepted!- Baylor fastbacc May 2013
T told me the letters should be going out by the end of this week so we should all be finding out veryy soon! exciting (: I think you have a very good shot at getting in smtps. best of luck to us all!- Baylor fastbacc May 2013
Yes super nerve wracking! T emailed me with a degree eval mid jan. because I requested one but I applied back in october so it has been a good long wait. @blackrimmedglasses did you apply any where else or just Baylor?- TCU Accelerated BSN Program - start date 5/15/13
I also applied we should be finding out sometime this week or next week!- Baylor fastbacc May 2013
Those are great scores! I have not looked into getting loans, but I am worried about the costs since it is our second degree. At least on the plus side since it is only a year we wouldn't have to worry about living costs etc for an additional year of a traditional program. As soon as I find out where/if I get accepted I'm going to start applying for scholarships/grants. I actually have a friend from high school who went through the program!- How is this even possible?
I'm glad I saw your post! It has been such a headache trying to get my transcripts updated there! I have had the same one sent twice and it mysteriously keeps disappearing so I'm going to try again Monday for a third time. I just really hope they get it together before my file gets evaluated for the nursing program.- TCU Fall 2013
Wow 100 on the A&P that is awesome! I'm sure they would take you with those scores! I saw we are both applying to TWU. My gpa is not as good there because if your a post-bacc they don't consider as many classes. TCU is probably my second choice, but I'll go anywhere I get accepted at this point!- TCU Fall 2013
I am applying to tcus fastbacc program with around a 3.84 gpa, 98% on the math, 94% overall on english, and an 80 in anatomy. We should be hearing back in a couple weeks. I did however apply to the traditional program in the fall of 2011 and I believe there was over 174 transfer applicants for 22 spots so it was pretty competitive. Needless to say my gpa was around a 3.3 then and I didn't get accepted. I'll probably also apply to the traditional program for the fall just in case if I have time. Good luck to everyone applying!!- UTA Fall 2013
Is anybody else having problems with UTA updating their transcripts? I have been so persistent calling admissions around 2-3 Xs a week to have them update my grades from the fall with still no luck. They must be really behind or something. Is that normal for UTA or am I the only one? I applied to quite a few other nursing programs and UTA is the only one I am having issues with.- Baylor fastbacc May 2013
Hi cupcake! Nice to hear from you! Your gpa and hesi scores look really good! I know they accept around ~32 students but I wonder around how many applicants they get for the fastbacc?? Do you have any idea around when in February they are sending out notices? I have two friends who are applying with 3.8ish gpas but hopefully they aren’t all that competitive lol and one of them Baylor isn’t their first choice. I wasn’t anxious when I applied but now that it’s getting closer I’m starting to get nervous! I applied to a few other places but Baylor is my first choice! Fingers crossed hopefully we get back good news next month! Blackrimmedglasses- Hi! No I have heard anything about an interview I was just double checking, good to know they don’t do that anymore. I received an email with the transcripts they received, my hesi scores, a degree evaluation, and that they got my application from T so I’m assuming my application is complete. Hope you don’t mind me asking what are your scores?- TWU Fall 2013 Applicants
Those are great stats! I spoke to someone on the phone at TWU who told me that for the spring every applicant that got accepted had at least 3 considerations! I don't know how true it is or not but sorta a bummer because I only have two. I guess those first time A's really are important! She also said that they expect to get between 800-1000 applicants..whomp whomp lol- UTA Fall 2013
I still haven't taken the quiz. hope you don't mind me asking how many questions were there & is it only over the chapters were supposed to read in the no limits book?- UTA Fall 2013
I have a previous bachelor's degree from A&M but that is all. The only class I have taken at UTA is the Intro to nursing that I am enrolled in right now. Thank you for the good luck wishes Rhonda K! Best of luck to you!! Baylor is my first choice, but I'll go anywhere I get in!- TWU Fall 2013 Applicants
I also applied with a 3.6 prereq gpa, a 79.3 on the TEAS, only one first attempt A ,and a previous bachelors degree. I don't think my stats are too great compared to some that I have seen on here, but hopefully its competitive enough. fingers crossed!- UTA Fall 2013
I also applied and am enrolled in intro to nursing online! My pre-req GPA is a 3.62 & on the HESI I made a 98% on the math & a 94 overall on the english. I still don't think I have the best of chances at UTA because I applied with a C in lecture for chemistry from over 5 years ago and I am retaking it this semester. I also applied to TCU, Baylor, TWU, & el centro. I am a CNA, but unfortunately not partnered. good luck to everybody!- 2013 Fall El Centro/Northlake Hopefuls
Hi everyone! I am also reapplying. There seems to be a lot of us trying again. I applied with 24 points last time and didn't get in due to my shot records. I had the td and not the tdap. They said the most common shots that people mix up is what I did with the td and the varicella. Just a heads up to everybody to tripe check your shots and make sure you have everything they ask for. Even if you have had the chicken pox you still need to get the varicella test done to prove it. I already turned in my packet this time with 27 points. I also applied to TCU, Baylor, TWU, and UTA. Good luck to everyone and I hope all goes well for us this time around! - TCU Accelerated BSN Program - start date 5/15/13
