  1. Just curious how long is your program? LVN-BSN ? I am from the east coast, but I see there are programs out there for that kind of transition, havent heard of any around the east coast.
  2. By the way, I had 31 SATA. no calculations, 2 meds, 4 dragNdrop.. 4 hours and 205qs
  3. Still thankful because I got all NEAR PASSING and one above PASSING on the report. Atleast I know where I stand after being out of school for at least 6 years. Although I took a remedial course a year ago but that was because my state required it. I used Exam Cram, PDA and NCSBN. I think all I need to do is to have that extra push over the line to pass! Do more questions and a little bit of content on the side I guess. What do you guys suggest I should do? Should I concentrate on questions or review content all over again?? Open to all comments, suggestions and the critics. For those of you who are taking the exam for the 4th or 5th time, don't get discouraged and see where you really need to focus on instead of worrying so much. stay positive !!! By the way, I had 31 SATA. no calculations, 2 meds, 4 dragNdrop.. 4 hours and 205 questions.
  4. congratulations. what state did you take it for?
  5. Thank you for the encouraging words. I just rescheduled my exam last night. I looked at the calendar and basically freaked out that I had 8 days left. I felt that I need to answer more questions. Even though I finished EXAM CRAM, PDA and Saunders already. So I rescheduled it, now I have an extra 18 days till my exam. My Att expires Feb 2013 so I guess im using that to my advantage. Rest assured that these extra days will be well spent on questions. This is actually the 2nd time my exam was rescheduled. My original date was dec. 27th but pearsonVue unscheduled my appointment because the testing center was affected during hurricane Sandy. So I had no choice but to pick a different date. So yeah hopefully after all this comes a positive outcome. Congratulations again and happy job hunting! Happy Holidays
  6. KkostelnikPN check this link out. Explains everything that you need to know about the PVT. https://allnurses.com/nclex-discussion-forum/pearsonvue-trick-does-621075.html
  7. I agree with you PMKNSE. Most of the greatest nurses around I know were not successful in going for the NCLEX the first or the second time around. Not to say the ones who have passed the first time are not great at all but this just goes to show that no matter how many times you fail doesnt determine if you will become a great nurse or not.
  8. hey when did u take the feuer live class? I took it it last March for one week. Maybe we were in the same class..
  9. Great post! Wow 18 years post graduation? I guess that's nothing compared to my 6 years post graduation. That's what you call determination and persistence. I have about 10 days or so left till I take mine, any advice?
  10. Lucky for those not living in NJ, the state of nj requires you to be licensed for atleast 6 months to even enter a bridge program.
  11. Good luck and plenty of rest tonight.
  12. Okay, I was just a bit surprised by how low the percentage is. I know way too many nurses who did not pass on their first time and a handful who weren't so lucky on their second.
  13. KrODD Is this dropping percentage backed up by ncsbn? That 40% is low, meaning all second time, third time fourth time test takers were just basically lucky to pass then? Although you were right in saying that most will probably fail again if they dont address the reasons why they fail in the first place.
  14. Congratulations and the part about the bf, I was actually thinking that maybe this time around he shouldnt be with me. the last time i took it he drove me and actually waited for me, maybe that added on more pressure. hehehe. As you probably read in my other post I too am writing everything down, note cards are my best friend. But with that said it's taking me more time to finish the saunders book. It's okay I guess. I dread pharm as well, do you mind sharing materials you used study pharm? my email is [email protected] I would truly appreciate it. Again, congratulations and happy job hunting. Oh and if you dont mind me asking was that your first time taking it?
  15. I too get sleepy and bored when reading the saunders chapters BUT i force myself to keep reading. Keep in mind without CONTENT there would be no license because you wouldn't be able to answer anything correctly. I found that knowing content even patho physiology helped me answer questions better or should I say, I am getting more correct answers than wrong. To prevent from getting sleepy and getting bored what I do is I go back and take notes on a index card. I read half the chapter and I go back from the beginning and take notes. As I read I highlight the information I want to put on my card. This way you are not just reading it once, I find that writing it down forces you to understand it more. You wont write something down if it doesnt make sense right? I am using the same materials as you with the exception of PDA, and exam cram. Don't give up and just stay focused. Atleast you have one supportive husband, maybe a remedial course might help.
