  1. Results are out. If you haven't received an email check on the soar website
  2. Good luck today! I hope you all do well on your exam. I have been in constant communications with school officials and am finally enrolled in the OB course that starts next month. Hopefully, I don't have to go through this whole ordeal again with Pediatrics. Let me know if you have any questions about the program. If anyone needs bls, nrp, acls, or pals certification let me know, my friend will give you a discount on it.
  3. I'm sure you'll do great! I hope you get the score you want on Friday so you will only need to do the essay next week.
  4. Have you taken the teas at SDSU yet? Either way good luck!
  5. I went to school in California. I didn't realize I posted in the international forum. This is my first time starting a thread.
  6. My friend is also applying to the same program as you. She's scheduled to take the teas next Wednesday at national.
  7. I've been on the wait list for those classes since May. National says cohorts come first. They have also told me that since those classes are hard to get in to that they will test me out. Again, they have been saying that since May. They have given me a lot of empty promises. If the teas is now worth 40% that means you 34.4 points! That's awesome. Do you have a high gpa?
  8. I completed the LVN to BSN program at National, but I'm in a very unique situation where I am still not eligible to take the NCLEX, because I challenged the LVN board due to my military experience and the RN board won't let me take the exam until I take Peds and OB. Those courses are not part of the LVN to BSN program and National University is not willing to help me. They've been sending me on a wild goose chase since May.
  9. Hello, I was a Navy Corpsman and was eligible to challenge the LVN board without having to go to school for it. Once I obtained my LVN license, I applied to the LVN to BSN nursing program at National University in San Diego. I completed the program in May and I am still not eligible to take the RN NCLEX because the board says I still need Peds and OB. My school is not helping me at all with this situation. None of this makes sense to me because I should be eligible to take my RN exam and my LVN license should be equivalent to me taking those classes since it's part of the LVN curriculum and not part of the LVN to BSN curriculum. I am wondering if anyone has ever been in this situation and what they did to remedy it. I would really appreciate any information or guidance anyone can provide.
  10. That's great! You did awesome, and 86% gives you 25.8 points. As long as your gpa is high and you didn't repeat any classes I'm positive you'll get in. You did an amazing job!
  11. There are other books that can help you, but I recommend focusing on the ATI study guide to help you. The science portion is the hardest, but if you focus on the other 3 sections you should still get a good score. I took the exam and was still able to score 80% and science was my weakest area on the exam. I focused on the other areas and they boosted up my score.
  12. The ATI study guide is a great resource for the TEAS since NU has a contract with ATI. Throughout the nursing program you will have to take ATI exams and pass with a level 2 in order to pass the class.
  13. It has to be 60 days in between exams if you're taking it at NU. If you take it outside of NU there's no time frame that you have to wait in between each exam. If you are applying to other schools you should check what their policies are.
  14. Good luck to both of you and I hope both of you get in. You can also take the TEAS at SDSU every day until you get the score you want. NU let's you take the TEAS an unlimited amount of time, you just have to submit a score by the day of your scheduled essay and exam.
  15. You are not required to pay the orientation fee of approximately $3,000 on the day of orientation. NU will charge the amount to your account like it's a class. Congratulations to all that got accepted!
  16. I started my program this past February (LVN-BSN). I love my classmates. I feel like I've been pretty much teaching myself. The program is disorganized and some of the teachers seem like they don't even want to be there. I guess the same could be said about a lot of other programs.
  17. Honestly, NU is very disorganized. The main reason why I applied to NU was because they are accelerated so I can sit for the NCLEX sooner. I kind of wish I applied to a different school, but the thought of going to school longer doesn't appeal to me. I have been basically teaching myself. Hopefully, my next class will be better. Some rules at NU doesn't make sense to me. A lot of my classes you have to score a minimum of 76% to pass the class. So even if you have an overall grade of an A, but you fail on the final you automatically fail the class. You have to score a level 2 on the ATI proctored exams and you have 2 attempts if you don't then you fail the class. You have to score a 100% on the medication dosage calculation test you get 3 attempts and if you don't pass you fail the class. My next class says that if we don't get above an 83% as your final grade in the class you are required to go to remediation studies for the next class and fulfill their requirements.
  18. Yes, that is correct. NU only calculates your science GPA, TEAS, essay, and number of attempts. My GPA was 3.8, 80% on the TEAS, and I got full points for the number of attempts. I don't know what I got on my essay.
  19. I guess the Spanish courses are only required in the Generic and LVN-BSN program.
  20. Spanish in the work place is a prerequisite for the nursing program. I recommend meeting with a counselor and submitting your transcript to see what would be transferable. I don't recommend going to the pre nursing forum until you're almost done with your prerequisites because you have to attend the forum within a year of applying to the nursing program.
  21. The Generic Entry BSN program is 22 months and about 40k. The LVN-BSN program is 15 months and about 30k. It is possible to work and be in the program. So far the program is ok. There's a lot of material to absorb. I recommend taking the TEAS at SDSU instead of NU the test is a lot easier there. You can take the TEAS as many times as you want outside of NU. You can take the TEAS everyday at SDSU if you want to get the score you want. I highly recommend the ATI book. Don't bother with any other study materials. The science portion is mainly high school science. It has nothing to do with nursing science like anatomy. I'm finishing up my pharmacology class right now and will start med-surg II Tuesday. That's suppose to be the make it or break it class.
  22. I emailed you. Let me know if you got it. I hope it helps
  23. It said the same thing when I tried to PM you. I think you have to have at least 20 post before you can PM anyone.
  24. What's your email address? There's a really good webpage I just found that will totally help you with the TEAS
  25. NU does not give you points for volunteer work. There for 4 sections that you get points for: number of attempts to pass a class, science base, TEAS, and essay. I would get the book and read a little at a time. I rented the book for $20. I do not suggest buying the online practice test that ATI offers. The book has two practice test at the end. The science part is pretty demanding I suggest skimming through it, but I think the science portion on the TEAS is much harder. The test is more on stuff that you learned in high school. I suggest that you take the TEAS at SDSU until you get a score of 80+.
