A&P I: Fall '05 Anatomy & Physiology Club
Hello everyone, I am in my second week of A&P and I am already wanting to tear my hair out. I was in lab tonight and we were looking through the microscopes for the first time and I couldn't see any of the objects were were supposed to be looking at! Neither could my lab partners. The teacher was not very helpfull either. I was wondering if I am just dumb or if anyone else has encountered this sort of thing. Thank you Nichole

After graduation present.......
Brand spankin' new car, hopefully a mustang. It will be the first "new" car I will ever own and I know by then I will have earned it! By the way I don't think you are being materialistic, it's always good to have something to keep you motivated!

Statistics vs A&P
Hello Everyone, I am doing my pre req's for nursing and next semester will be my first A&P class. I want to go for my BSN so I will be having to take Stat's as well. When I first started to pursue this I thought A&P would be terrifying (and maybe it will be) but when I discovered I would have to take a Stat's class I am now more terrified of that. So I am wondering, for those of you that have taken both, which was harder? I am starting math from scratch so I am hoping that will help me to get through Stat's evenutally. Thanks in advance for your imput Nichole

How did you find out about allnurses?
I found it like most of you it seems, searching through nursing schools. I am only doing my pre-req's now but this site has taught me a whole lot already. I am so happy that I found it!

need advice
Hello, I am doing my pre req's as well. When I decided I wanted to be a nurse I thought I should jump in and get over some of my blood and guts issues. I just applied at the local ER as an admitting rep. I know it's not direct patient contact but I learned a whole lot and also helped with networking. I had only worked in offices before but my computer/customer service skills helped me get in the door. Hope this helps a little!

Ghostly experiences??
I am not yet a nurse but I had to reply to this one to be called to it. I was working as a receptionist trying to figure out what to do with my life and a temp was working there and she was about to go to nursing school. I thought to myself that would be interesting but I was tied to the job. A few days later I was told they were downsizing and since I was last to be hired I was let go. I decided this was an opportunity for me to work at a hospital and get over some of my fears. I soon got a job admitting patient's into the er. While I was there I was eating in the cafeteria reading the book Converstations with God when a woman came and asked if she could sit next to me. She asked what I was reading and I told her and she said we should pray together. I am not a religious person usually but I thought it would be rude to turn her down. When we were praying I got this tingly feeling all over and it sort of scared me. Later that night I got home and floating in the dog bowl dish was this:Have no fear for what tomorrow may bring. The same loving god who cares for you today will take care of you tomorrow and every day. God will either sheild you from suffering or give you unfailing strength to bear it. Be at peace then, and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations. Mind you this was in a dog bowl in a yard with chows and 10 ft tall fences. Then the next day I was in the rest room and on a sticky in the stall was this: turn ye unto me, saith the lord, and I will turn unto you. It was at that point that I decided that god or something was trying to tell me that I was on the right path and if I hadn't made the decision to work in a hospital I may have never come across these things. I am finally (with the help of my wonderful parents) able to go to school full time and persue this.
