National University BSN April 2014 Cohort
I emailed the person who told us about our admissions and he said only the students who don't get accepted into the program will receive a score summary in their portal. If you want your breakdown of scores just email your advisor and he or she should provide it for you but it won't show up in your student portal.

I actually found out the awesome news while I was shopping at the mall!! You could imagine how badly I was freaking out with all those shopping bags in my hand! Hahaha. But once again congratulations future nurses!!! All of our hard work paid off and it will continue to pay off as long as we stay hungry and aim for our goal of getting that nursing degree. We got this!! :)

miss.mj, I also have 71 points prior to the essay! :) I met a friend in class who gave me the breakdown of scores for the recent cohort starting in January. The average amount of points for those who were guaranteed acceptance was 86 points and alternatives had around 82-83 points. Looking at everyone's scores here, it seems like we all have a shot of making it! I'm anxious to find out the results!!! We're all in this together :) Just remember, we WILL get into the nursing program! It's just not guaranteed when..It may be this April (God willing) or July or October. But no matter what happens, just keep pushing forward and stay positive! :)

National University BSN April 2014 Cohort
Seems like everyone here is in pretty good standing!! I really hope we all make it! Our proctor during the test told us that the amount of people who applied for this cohort was smaller than usual so that kind of made me feel better about my chances. Usually there are 250-300 but I heard this cohort was around 160-170. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!! miss.mj, we won't find out our essay score until after we find out if we've been accepted or not.

I really hope they stick to their word! This April's cohort didn't find out their results until February and they were told that they would find out mid-January too.

KGCaligirl, I honestly don't mind sharing my scores. I scored a 78 the first time and the second time I boosted my score up in the low 80s.

Jennaready86, did you email them and ask them when we would find out? Or did they just sent you an email saying that? Because I didn't receive anything from them!

I did better my second time on the teas. I was so happy :) my essay prompt was so difficult! I got the one about how nursing is a science and art. I hope I did well on it. I'm really praying that we all get in! All we can do now is wait... But in the meantime I hope everyone enjoys their holidays!!! These next two months will fly by sooner than you think! Again, goodluck and keep in touch :)

lyfhckr, I applied on October 15 and received my test date within a week of applying. Which cohort did you apply to?

miss. ann, I'm also trying to get those three extra classes out of the way. I already took Cultural Pluralism online, and i'll be starting Spanish II next week! I forgot what the third class was haha. Your back up plans sound like a good route to take. I've heard community college nursing programs have waitlists that can be as long as 2 years! That's one of the main reasons why I chose to go to National.

Hi miss.ann :) Don't be discouraged about your teas score. A 3.49 gpa is really good and you said that you did really well on your essay. As long as you know you worked your hardest, you'll be rewarded for it so just stay positive! I myself have been feeling skeptical lately because it's just so competitive, but I've realized that that's not a good nor healthy mindset to have. We will make it! And if not the first time, we still have two more chances to reapply.

Hi socalABSN2b and lyfhckr! Thanks for your replies! :) socalABSN2b, great job on your teas!! That's such a competitive score! When did you take it? I'm hoping to score higher on mine when I retake it on the 26th. Have you calculated your points so far? I heard that anyone who has around 70 ish points including only the gpa, teas, and number of retakes has a really good chance of getting in, and those with an 84-87 overall score are guaranteed acceptance. I'm currently at 71 points without the essay which is borderline! I'm hoping my essay will get my overall score where it needs to be. lyfhckr, you applied to the April 2014 cohort and haven't received a date to take the teas and essay yet??? That's odd. They notified me with my test date at the end of October. You should contact them!! Because a lot of people I know that have applied to this cohort already received their test date... Also, National does not have a minimum TEAS score requirement. It's just the higher the score on the test, the more points you earn. Therefore, the better chance you have. You can take it as many times as you want at sdsu! I recommend taking it there once to get a feel for it then take it at NU when they give you a test date. You can submit your higher score! :) Hope this answers your question! Good luck to everyone!!! Keep in touch. :)

National University Cohort 36 Essay Topic
Hi everyone! Do you any of you know what the cut off score was for your cohort? I applied for the April 2014 cohort and it seems like the cut off scores are increasing each cohort. Thanks :)

KGCaligirl, I'm taking the essay and TEAS on November 26. You're taking it so soon! Good luck to you :) Have you taken the TEAS before? I've taken it at sdsu once just to get a feel for it and know my areas that I need to brush up on. Hopefully I score higher this second time! Hi EVLGNUS, have you already applied to the program? If you have they should have sent you an email with your scheduled test and essay date. If you haven't applied yet and you want to take the TEAS somewhere else before you take it at National you could schedule an appointment at sdsu like what I did. You could take it on any day of the week and as many times as you'd like. Hope this helps!

National University Cohort 37 January 2014
Thanks! :) I took my TEAS at SDSU but only scored a 78%. I'm retaking it to see if I could score higher and I actually just received my scheduled date to take it with NU in about a month. What was your gpa and teas scores if you mind me asking?

SDgirl2013, at least you have a super high GPA! And your TEAS score is really good! Good job with your pre-reqs. I'd say you're in really good standing for getting accepted and I hope you get in!! Is it true that the TEAS is harder at National than at SDSU? That's what I've heard from some people but I highly doubt that's true...
