  1. I joined the military straight out of high school back in 1994 ( left active and joined national guard in 2000).. Started prerequisites in 2000 then deployed in 2002, started back at school end of 2003, then deployed 2005-2006.. I finally graduated in 2009 at age of 33.. I have ten years on most of the young nurses I work with and I'm older than a couple of my docs
  2. I would have woken the patient up to give him or her their meds just like any other patient. The only medication we dispense for a patient to take home is an albuterol MDI.
  3. I'm currently working as ER nurse with my diploma in nursing and associates in science.. planning to start a RN-BSN program this fall. Mean while getting any certifications along the way.. (ACLS, PALS, NRP, ECRN, TNCC, ABLS) and currently studying for my CEN. There are several others classes I'd love to take. I get bored easy and always looking to learning something new.
  4. Have you taken TNCC. I found that to be an excellent course. I haven't taken a CEN review or the test but I'm interested in it.
  5. I did it. Went to school in MA and then moved to WI two days after graduation. Search the board of nursing web for the state you want your license in and see what they require.
  6. I had a coworker wanting to move to Canada and she applied for her nursing license. She said it takes a long time just to get all the paperwork together and even longer for the approval process. She is still waiting and it's been over a year. Good luck!
  7. Fte3826... What's it like doing travel nursing as ER nurse? Are you well excepted by the hospitals you go too?
