  1. Study Blue and Quizlet has been my best friend this past semester
  2. one r/t needs to be the reason etc. I hated doing the nursing diagnosis at first until a RN student advised me to get a care plan book and my life became so much easier.
  3. I just completed my first semester of LPN and it was Amazing. I mean everyone is gonna have their up's and downs and at one point I wanted to throw in the towel and give up. I feel like you need to have a good support system as well. I finished off with a 3.5 GPA with an A- in both fundamentals (7 credits) and pharmacology (1 credit). Always read prior to class and take notes. My best investment was a voice recorder though I have to say. Don't become a procrastinator when it comes to clinical and clinical paperwork. Our school we had to do a Care Plan (very time consuming) and a Head to toe physical assessment along with drug cards each rotation and I had three this semester. I have a close nit of friends in the program and we developed our own study group and work very well with one another. I typically studied anywhere's from 6-8 hours a day and left Sunday's as "Me" day. Good Luck on your start of nursing school. As I am heading into my second with Materniy, Med-Surg, and another round of Pharmacology.
  4. I started my LPN program the last week of August and just completed my first semester. I will be done in May. The first few months have been a bumpy road with my tears that have been shed but made the Dean's list nonetheless at the college. It's great that you are all starting and Good Luck. Put your best foot forward and don't be a procrastinator. I suggest reading prior to class as well. Clinical's are great and may be a drag at first but it's the best way of learning.
  5. Well I just decided I wanted to go into Nursing this past spring and I got accepted on my first shot of applying. I have been out of high school for 5 years now and when I graduated I was top ten in my class. The 2 years that I have went to college before pursing a major, I took several pre-req classes and I had a cumulative GPA when accepted was a 3.7. If your not comfortable try going to a local community college first and take pre-reqs for nursing. Good Luck :)
  6. I start Aug. 27th and I am in Upstate NY above Albany. Attending NCCC. Taking Nursing 101, Pharmacology, and Developmental Psych!
