  1. you guys are all awesome! thanks so much for replying! =) i have no doubt that CRNA school will be the hardest thing i've ever done, but getting there has now become much easier from all the information i've found on this site. thanks again! =)
  2. * i've been researching information on CRNAs for the past two years during my nursing career, and i have found very little in terms of pediatric CRNAs. i've found that there aren't programs specializing in pediatrics and that most anesthesia cases are adults, but that's about it. i was wondering if there were any pediatric CRNAs or persons knowledgeable on the subject who could speak to the path(s) to become a pediatric specialist. i’m planning on working full-time in an adult SICU and casual in a PICU prior to entering a CRNA program to help start my pediatric experience, but i'm lost beyond that. ;o) THANKS!! =)
  3. Hi. I was just in Durham 2 weeks ago, interviewing at Duke's Accelerated BSN program and apartment-hunting. If you go on to the Durham police department website, it lists all the crimes for different areas in Durham. I was able to search around the specific address of the apartment I fell in love with, and found that there were only 5 incidents of larceny within the past year and NOTHING else! (Not bad, considering I'm moving from L.A.). I definitely found some nice areas of Durham, and this website helped reassure my first impressions. :) Here's the link: http://www.durhampolice.com/ (You have to click on "crime statistics" from the left menu, and then on to "Durham crime mapper".)
  4. I just found out today that I have been accepted into Duke's Accelerated BSN program!!! I was in Durham last week, and I absolutely fell in love with the state. I'm a seventh-generation Californian, so it's going to be difficult to leave, but I'm definitely looking forward to it. I hope to meet some new people in the area (people are so nice over there, I love it!).
