I work in California in the ER at a CAH. There is only one RN in the ER and one RN for acute. My manager is requiring that I clock out for lunch and the acute nurse (who sometimes has no ER training or experience) is to cover the ER and Acute units. I have protested that this isn't safe but I continue to get in trouble. Do I have a leg to stand on here?

Hey OLD DOG. I start AMP 450 on Monday. How was it? Would you mind PMing me the name of you professor and your feelings on the class?

I am a military spouse and I pay about $900 per class with the discount. I was required to take a stats for health care class. If you have more questions feel free to private message me.

The best advice that I can give you it to call the BRN first thing in the morning when they open, I typically got through at about 9am Cali time after a 30 minute hold. Did you apply for a temporary license?

Finally received my temporary license August 10th.

This professional research class is killing me. I am in the second week and am dying. Please tell me it gets better!

My wait is over! I finally received my temp license August 10th. After submitting my application online and temp application in person on May 19th.

The huge wait time, poor communication, lack of assistance, lack of concern. 8) Remedies you've tried to get your application processed. Many calls to the BRN (only 3 answered), 2 emails (none answered), 1 fax (not answered). Formal complaint filed with DCA (was told they would forward it to the BRN, never heard anything back from BRN). Email complaint sent to governor Brown's office (was told they would forward complaint to DCA, never heard anything back from the DCA about forwarded complaint). 9) Do you have a job/contract with a dead line that you need this license for? Yes I have a pending position at a hospital.

Why are they processing "international applications" quicker than US applications? Shouldn't they just process them in the order received? Also, I keep seeing these nurse travel agencies advertise that they have "expedited" CA RN licensing with the BRN. Stating that you will have your license in 4-6 weeks? Doesn't this seem unethical?

I will be starting in the ED. I will see what I can find related to news networks there.

We fly out of Hawaii and arrive in Cali on Aug. 8th. We will be staying with my friend while we wait to get into a house. The job that I have lined up is at a critical access hospital in a very small town, so there are not many other job opportunities for me to do while I wait. My husband will be attending school and therefor will not be bringing in any money when we get there. This is so stressful. I wish that I could do more to help everyone out. I have thought about contacting the California Nurses Association but I don't know if they would be of any help or even care because I am not a member (yet). I have also thought about contacting the news media because this has been an on going problem since 2013 (at least).

We are also waiting to close on a house, but I need to get my license and first pay stub before that can happen.

I filed a complaint with the BRN, the Department of Consumer Affairs as well as with the Governor's office on Friday, July 16th. The Department of Consumer Affairs responded first stating that they would forward my complain to the BRN. Then the Governor's office responded that they would forward my compliant to the Department of Consumer Affairs. Ugh....

It changed to 16-18 weeks yesterday afternoon (July 13th). This morning when I checked again they had completely removed the estimated time.

The timeframe for endorsement just jumped to 16-18 weeks!!!!!

Something happened to me. I submitted both applications on 5/19. Permanent license submission was done online and temporary was hand delivered to their office. On BreEZe submission dates for my permanent license is 5/19 and temporary 7/1.
