I guess a public reprimand is not a well known issue or maybe folks that recieved no longer post on recovery sites. I hope the later is the case because Im getting discouraged. CA BRN is brutal !

The only nurse support group in my area is the diversion group. It cost $100 dollars per meeting! Thank goodness Im not mandated to go to support groups. I would like to find out if there are any online support groups like SMART (alternative to 12 steps.)

Does anyone know of an educational venue for chemical dependency in California. I am supposed to take a 4 hour clasroom style course to meet probation stipulation. Im thinking a seminar or conference. I live in the boonies so there is nothing like that here and of course the Board cant allow any alternatives to the agreed stip. : / Possibly even an AA event with other medical professionals. I am a 25 yr. career nurse who got a DUI 3.5 years ago. I am going to try to get a public reprimand and was hoping to see if any of you got one or knows someone who got one. First offense in California. Im just beginning to research this and will gin=ve info back as I find out. Thanks

Is there anyone out there who has lost there license because of a first time DUI? I would be surprised if that were so.

Yes. Hire a lawyer. Get a law firm who has alot of experience with the BRN. From what Ive read, you may be able to avert alot of hassle and expense. Do this ASAP. Good Luck.
