  1. I notied that I have the work hell in the above post. Sorry about that, I guess Spell check go me. Anyway, any of you FNP/ APNs know about this topic?
  2. I agree with that. If you can not work, of course you should not. I had a child when doing my AS degree. At that Time my husband was in schools too. During my BS degree, I had two kids. Although my husband is wonderful and made a good income as a engineer, our bills still required me to work. That is due to us buying a nice home and cars. The post was can you work and my response was yes. If you do not have to work, of course you shouldn't. It would make life so much simpler.
  3. It is totally doable. I worked full time while working on my AS degree. I worked full time while working on my BSN degree. Now I am in grad school, I am still working full time. Although, I will probably go down to PRN when I start my advanced clinicals. The trick is to get your employee to work with you. Let them know that you are wanting to better educate yourself and they will probably help you out and even pay for some of it. Hope this helps.
  4. Hell, I am a BSN RN, CRRN. I am currently in my second semester in Grad school to become a FNP. I want to know about the FNP certifications. First is one considered better than the other? Next, is there things that can be done with one that the other can not do? Also, is one easier than the other? Lastly, should I keep my CRRN certification up? My nurse manager asked me to attend some CE classes for my CRRN cert. but I told her I graduated before it will come due. She asked me, what do you mean by this. I guess she had the impression that i was getting my master degree as a FNP for the pure joy and was going to continure being a RN. But seriously, is there any reason i should keep it up. It really has not done me any good as to date. It did not get me a raise, it did not get me into the graduate school of choose, it does not keep me from getting pulled to other departments when i am the hospitals only CRRN. Thanks for you advise.
  5. There is noting wrong with TSU. They are part of the Tennessee Board of Regnants along with MTSU, ETSU, Austen Peavy, University of Memphis andTenn. Tech, . TTU is considered the best of the 6 and TSU is considered the worst but realistically none of them are Harvard and at the end of the day, you will still be an RN. Why even consider going to bellmont and spending 30 grand to be an RN when you can be the same thing so much cheaper. I could see if you were trying to get a job at duke medial center but more than likely you are going to work in your area. you would be a RN working along side of the bellmont and vany RNS. I am a RN but went to Walter State, then got my BSN at ETSU, now i am in TSU's MSN program and proud to be accepted.
