  1. I hope everyone did well on the final. We have one more exam, then we can relax. Merry Christmas!
  2. I want to pull my hair out over clinical paper work too, but I can't because all I want to do is vomit because of the stress of it all. I received unsatisfactory after long hours as well I am at the end of my rope and just about to let it go
  3. The only good thing I can say about the first semester of nursing school, is it is a Great weight loss plan! 15 lbs down. Will the stress let up at all second semester? Silly question, I know.
  4. I understand how you feel. I am a first semester student, I am doing ok with the book work. But preparation for clinical is about to push me over the edge and out the door
  5. We have no study guides or power points. We get 4 lectures at 2 hours each to get everything covered. We make whatever notes we can, the lecture is very fast. Our last exam was over 26 chapters, the next one is 22. It is indeed stressful to try and figure out what and how to study. I am happy just to make the 78% needed to pass. Some days I want to just give up, but as long as I am passing I will keep on trying to do my best. Hang in there, and good luck!
  6. Ok, all you Friday clinical students, lets hear how it went :)
  7. Went and got a flu shot today, my Dr recommended I have it for clinical. I had better not catch the flu! Please can I stop getting the shots, I think it is my turn to give some
  8. Trying to decided if I should get out now, or keep going! Ugh....
  9. I keep checking paws. I thought we would know right away, but I guess not
  10. Congrats, so happy for you! Keep up the great work! In the program I am in we have to get 94% for an A. We took our first exam today and I am still waiting, wanting at least 78% to pass.
  11. Had my vital signs skills check off today! Oh the stress of it all.
  12. I used Taber's online cyclopedic medical dictionary doe the glucose questions. I think the medical surgical book had some info as well. My question is are we supposed to know how to BP for clinical, I am having a hard with that
  13. I had clinical already and no one said anything about the flu shot being required. You will be fine without it. Have fun tomorrow.
  14. RN2b, I feel the same way about it taking longer than it really should. We are probably over thinking it. I didn't use page numbers when I did my citing. I only did a reference page at the end of my objectives. SheriWood, thanks for all the tips.
  15. I believe we are to read the chapters for clinical, and know how to do the skills. I have started my Dx and hope to finish it up tonight. Fingers crossed that i am close to the right type of format. Still not sure how much info to present. I agree completely about WHEN WILL WE HAVE TIME TO STUDY!
  16. Right now I am wishing I at least had heading or a worksheet to know exactly what and how much information I need to do these Nursing Diagnosis. I only hope we get a small break because this is the very first one.
  17. Does anyone know what time we go to clinical on Saturday?
  18. Maybe I was mistaken about the time. I did it 2 days ago before we were given two attempts.
  19. 23 questions on the work sheet, and you have two hours. Don't stress, it was not bad at all :)
  20. Freshman, I hope we all get to the point of knowing what is going on, sooner rather than later. I have been working on something all week long, but I feel like I am just spinning my wheels and not accomplishing much. How can that be?
  21. One week in. The amount of information is over whelming to say the least, and the reading is unbelievable.
  22. There is just so much information on PAWS it is over whelming as to what to look at. I too made a note to answer the learning out comes for each unit, as well as typing and citing the ones for clinical. I agree about the reading, and it never fails as soon as I start reading I start to fall asleep! I have got to find a quick fix for that problem. I spent my day doing the TCPS, which took me much longer than 30 mins. I never did figure out how I could type my information into the passport I finally just printed it and wrote in my information. Tomorrow I plan to do the dosages worksheet, then on to the READING. I am very thankful for the long weekend maybe I will be able to get all that reading caught up.
  23. Does anyone else feel as they are behind, only after two days? I have a lot of catching up to do this weekend
  24. I hope everyone has an AMAZING first day!
