  1. I am in the same position. Recently, I've had 2 PICCs go up the IJ. Another PICC nurse had the same trouble. When a PICC is inserted, the procedure has been completed, and CXR confirms it's in the IJ, what troubleshoot techniques would y'all recommend? Pull back the PICC and use it as a midline or...? All of the posts in this discussion has been very insightful.
  2. Finished my phase 2 of the application process a couple of days ago. I'm super excited!
  3. Wow, how rude. I wish he and others knew we are all colleagues. Yes, the market is really competitive, but that doesn't mean you have to lose mutual respect and civility towards each other.
  4. Thank you so much for the insight!
  5. Hello all, I am doing my preceptorship (6 week clinical rotation) in a local PACU. This was my first week, and I really enjoyed it! I would love to hear advice from both experienced and new PACU nurses. How do you prepare for the day? Any tips on time management? Thanks!
  6. Honestly, with the surplus of new graduates and the lack of new graduate positions, I would be interested in obtaining any nursing experience with or without pay. Like SNB1014 said, there are many volunteer nurses out there. Additionally, volunteering is a very uplifting activity.
  7. Some schools have academic bankruptcy, where, if you have had at least a 3 year break from college, you can get a clean slate with your GPA/Transcript. Don't lose hope!
  8. Thank you so much for clarifying with HR! I've been waiting on an e-mail back from them about it.
  9. Thank you to everyone who has posted all of this insight! I'm going to keep all of this in mind when I start working as a new grad this winter. :)
  10. Hey everyone, I applied for Feb 2012 cohort a few days ago. Today, I noticed the entire application format was different (Career/Goals statement wasn't to be uploaded, but typed onto the application, etc.). I also didn't have to register the first time I applied. I did just now, but it's giving me a new application form. Any feedback on this?
  11. Do you have to wait until you have graduated to apply for licensure to Tx?
  12. Hey allnurses, I noticed Methodist offers one, but I haven't heard anything about the program, how the new grads liked it, etc. I was curious if I could get some feedback from others who have participated in any new grad residency programs in San Antonio. Thanks in advance!
  13. Wow! That sounds like a horrible ordeal! I'm very sorry to hear what you went through, but I am glad you shared your experience with us. It was very insightful. It must have meant it wasn't meant to be and there is something out there for you way better. Keep your head up :)
  14. I have a question: Can you apply to multiple specialities? I'm really interested in both oncology and critical care.
  15. Thank you so much for the insight! I cannot wait to apply! :)
