Where can I find out more about this and how to help with it?

Last time I looked into this there had not been any updates since I believe 2009 or something like that. How can we find out infomation on this or how to go about trying to have it submited into house for vote??? Last time I believe they refused it stating there was a large need for it and that only 4% of nurses from Pa worked in other states, becoming compact would cause more issues with difference in what is required by Pa verse other states and felt it would cause lower quality nurses?? Nurses without proper continued education/training, increase possibility to be at risk for multi investigations?? Does anyone have any updates or have any thoughts to add on this issue??? For me my husband travels for work and most of the states he goes too are compact states...so Pa jumping on board would be a blessing for me. Now to have to try to figure out where to start to get each state license and pay hundreds of dollars each time then the additional cost of renewals is just overwhelming.

This person is A&O, he doesn't care if your male or female. My ADON is male he had even broke him, he walks in his room each day for tx and does so with head down and stressed at the thought of going in. The patent is a big guy who from my understanding has been mean and bullying to others always including family. He did have a apartment but decided to give it up. He didn't do pt, heck even tells dr what he will and won't do. He refused psych says he isn't the one with a problem we need to do what we are told. Because he is no that to himself and he twist things so terribly that even the police did nothing. I like many loved coming to work each day, love my pts etc now many of us dread it for fear this won't change. If we quit he wins I am going to start making some calls to some of the places talked about on here. I am also going to talk to my boss again.

No he isn't private pay, has no private ins, DON says even if they give him a 30 day notice he had to want to go to a new place or they can't force him she says he has been to do many places and done the same thing

It is ltc, I tried to file charges ava the d.a. turned me away but said I might have a civil suit against work. But declined to tell me what I could do next. My work knows this. They are aware of everything he does, yet the administration bends over backwards for him and takes lil action and their words do nothing to changea terrible situation

The abuse to not only myself but my other co workers and residents has been going on since Oct last year. It's like being in a abusive relationship you can't get out of. It is to the point he beings ppl to tears and panic attacks. 4 weeks ago he ran his electric w/c into me I am now doing PT for. My employer was supposed to issue a 30 notice several times and has yet to do it, instead they moved me to a different unit, cut my hours "due to census" and have had to make changes to activities d/t his bullying patients in there, he degrades, belittles, and with comments regarding some having big azz etc I am sure sexual harrassemt might fall in there. We feel helpless and don't know where to turn, can anyone please give advice or point me in the right direction on how to proceed. Our CNA's are union and are considering seeing if union will get involved but not sure that they can. We feel our employer has failed to protect us and we should have some sort of rights, dont we??

Does anyone know or have a suggestion on which one would be best for someone in Pennsylvania?

I was told that there is different laws between skilled and assisted living facilities and staffing policies through the state. I am unable to locate where these are to read for myself. I have been all over the pennsylvania board of nursing site, am I looking in the wrong place? And if a lpn is working without a rn present can they loose their license? I am asking because I was offered a 11-7a position as a night supervisor, I asked on staffing and was told there would be myself and 2-3 aides. I was told that state law says if a skilled facility has under a certain number of beds/patients this was allowed....I have been trying to find this and don't want to take a job that could cause me to get in trouble with my license I worked so hard to get. Thanks in advance for your help with this :) Ps also I read before while in nursing school the guidelines for lpn and the departments do's and dont's for lpn but cant locate it now...help with that would be appreciate too :) Sorry so needy tonight lol

I would be willing to even start there. I did sign up for a palliative care online 6 week course starting on the 14th. I thought it couldn't hurt and that will give me time to find direction.

I graduated in June of this year, I took a job where I did my clinicals. We have a Trac & Vent Unit, Rehab Unit & LTC Unit so I get all aspects of the process but I really feel a need to work with hospice. I have gotten to work with a few patients on hospice and be there when they expired. This is something I handle well having dealt with in personally several times and want to truly make a difference problem is I can't seem to find online training or even just training. I could get a job with an agency but I really feel before I am put out there in the field it is only right that I have further training so I am not going in blind so to speak with a company that just wants a body there not someone that is trained. Any advice on where to start would be greatly appreciated and valued.

I just checked and it still says my results are not ready, so bummed really wanted to know for sure! I know I started my test prior to noon schedule and finished about 130-145 I believe, so maybe try again at 2

I took mine on friday but I will certainly say a prayer for you. :) I stopped said a prayer during mine too lol I will find out monday if I passed and will be thinking of you.

I would call the department of state/ BON and ask them, I had an issue with my ATT and called them and here mine was just waiting to be release, the corrected it in one day and I test 2 days later (yesterday) now waiting to see if I passed :)

Were I realize you had to wait for your results, my feeling worked up about waiting for results has nothing to do with growing up and putting on my big girl pants. I have put every thing into this as I am sure you did as well. The minute those systems shut down it knows if you passed or failed, The wait is frustrating to all and coming on here to share that frustration with fellow persons that have taken the test before us and asking for advise is a method of coping and for that I don't feel badly. You are correct life isn't about being instantaneous results but would bet there isn't one person that hasnt taken that test and been worried or concerned or nervous to get those results. It to me isn't fair that some states have to wait 6-8 weeks or results and others don't and I am sorry but to me 2 days is a life time with my future is riding on this since I can't go back to my former position in construction & I am waiting to pass to be able to obtain a nursing job in hopes it will still be there me.

did it say at the bottom in red that your results were not avaliabe yet? Or when you tried to register did it say you recently registered for this exam and couldnt register at this time?? I am confused on what I am looking for..

I don't know exactly what I am looking for in the pop up, I see some are saying the reworded the pop up and it says your results are on hold or something...mine didnt say that it said "our records indicate that you recently secheduled this exam. Please contact your member board for further assistance. Another register cannot be made at this time"
