  1. 46 years is incredible. You have much to offer.
  2. Where I'm at, top side rails are simply not used except in well documented restraint situations
  3. "Meet the Parents" ruined the title "male nurse"
  4. That's why there is a shortage of nurses, but mostly a shortage of floor nurses. Good nursing jobs are hard to find.
  5. 3 months into med/surg at a nearly broke antiquated institution and I sometimes can't remember my name. Fortunately some people I work with are encouraging.
  6. You're typically better off in a nurse union. My benefits are great, though my union is weak. I would like to see nursing benefit from unions as I've seen other areas like the construction industry and auto industry
  7. Likely a scientific reason
  8. Not all med/surg experiences are the same. Some facilities are better than others, some states better than others, some cities better than others. Get as much information about where you intend to work and don't rush into a job if you can afford to wait.

  10. If you are science/math minded, a pharmacy degree is awesome and earns more money.
  11. I would like to know what part of the country you are in. I just posted re reentry (1/9/5). I would love to find such a position. I'm confident that with a little orientation/training I will quickly re-adapt. Please respond. caba
