  1. Hello! I am applying to the LPN program at Penn Valley. I got my BA degree from Mizzou several years ago but after working as a unit secretary at a hospital the past few years my interest was piqued and so I'm trying to go back to school! I can't find what the pre-reqs are for Penn Valley. I am currently taking anatomy and phys, but what else do I need? Thanks for any info at all!
  2. thanks so much! I was hoping somebody would have an answer. I am taking the 3/4 version, they are switching to 5 in the fall. I feel a lot less nervous now that I've seen the practice test!
  3. Hello everyone! I am taking the TEAS on March 4. I purchased the study guide and practice test from ATI and tried out the practice test just now to see what it was like. I just blew threw it to get an idea of what was on there and got a 74%, fine with me, especially since I bombed the science! Now I know what to work on. But, when I asked the school I am applying to what a "passing" score was she said 20 on math and 50 on reading. Huh?! I got a 93% on reading and 70% on math, what is she referring to?
  4. thanks for your info! No high altitude here, we live in Missouri. She is 13 months but was breastfed before that. I should mention on her CBC that everything else was completely normal, no strange white counts or anything like that, and her ped. is certain it isn't anemia.
  5. not sure if anyone can help........our baby's ped called us last week to say her platelet counts were elevated, normal being 400,000 and hers were 700,000. They think stress was a factor (she was poke 4 times before they got the blood) or maybe was fighting a virus. We have to have a redraw next week and if they are still up we are going to a hematologist. Most of the info in my texts only mentions low platelet counts.......she also just had her MMR vax, which could be something, too........
  6. yes you helped me greatly! I am a little peeved because the placement test says I need a developmental math course, which I have to take before the NET. It frustrates me since I already have a BA degree and have taken college math! But I am happy to find somebody that is doing the program I an interested in! I hope I can ask you more questions if I have them! Thanks!
  7. are you serious? that's the kind of math I had in 8th grade! But, if there are sixty questions and only a few are algebra, is all the rest number conversions, word problems, etc? I really appreciate your info!
  8. my daughter was face up..........it HURT but since she was my first I didn't know any difference. I just had to push for two hours and had a second degree tear plus the episiotomy. Hoping baby #2 will be face down!
  9. you guys are wonderful! that makes me feel so much better. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English so I'm not too worried about that part, vocab. has always been my strong point. But, if it is basic math like we did in high school (eight years ago) then hopefully I can hack it, since the NET is an admission requirement. I will check out that practice site, you all have calmed my nerves so much! thanks! :)
  10. Math isn't my strongest point so I'm a little worried about this section of the test. Can anyone recommend a good study guide? I'd kill to see some examples of the math questions.
  11. Hi everyone! I have a BA degree from UMKC because at the time I was young and dumb and trying to finish college as fast as possible! Now that it's some years later I'd really like to get my ADN but my math skills have never been great. I'm dying to find some examples of math that will appear on the NET but I'm not having any luck! I'm finding I already have a lot of the required courses, except for a few like psych and bio 100. I'm thinking on the Penn Valley program but everything is so up in the air! Anybody in my shoes?
