We need a N.C. nurse get together
Okay, I'm moving to NC in 3 weeks, and I need some friends there. It sounds like fun to me! I will be in southeastern NC, but I wouldn't mind driving.

Looking to relocate to Green Bay area
I just graduated from the RN program at NWTC. Good school. I am also an LPN. I work in Appleton, about 30 min away from GB. I make around $16 an hour. My friends work in GB, and it seems like they all make about $1 more, but that's in a nursing home. Hospitals will probably be around $13-$14.

Needing info about Oneida Nation
I went to school in GB. I am not sure if there are jobs available working specifically for the Oneida Nation, but there are enough hospitals in the area. In my experience, most of the Oneida Indians are accustomed to our culture, and there won't be very many cultural barriers there. I guess the only thing that sticks out in my mind that may be an issue, from a medical standpoint, are alcohol-related issues, FAS. And honestly, I think that goes for the whole area. Aren't we known for our beer drinking?

Moving down South!
I am not a Canadian, so I can't tell you much about visas, but I am from Wisconsin (brrrr) so I can understand why you want to move south! I am moving to NC in a month. I chose NC because it is really beautiful. Like you, I wanted to live by the water. Someone told me about Wilmington, and I went there last week. I loved it! I got a job! I liked everyone I met there, and I think there is a lot to do! It is really different than here, where you can only do things outside 3 months out of the year. Pay is a little less there than here, but cost of living may have something to do with that. I am about your age, so we probably have some similar interests, and I don't think I will ever get bored there. good luck!

Apartment Hunting in Durham
One of my friends is a new grad, and moving to NC to work at Duke! The nurse recruiter told her to see if Duke is a preferred employer at the apartment you are looking at, and if they are, you probably are in a safe area. Duke may be able to tell you which apartments they recommend. I know they helped my friend a lot. (She is moving from 1100 miles away)

Wilmington area - psych position?
I am moving to Wilmington too! I was just there last week, and I think there is a psych facility at New Hanover called the Oaks, or something like that. I saw job postings for nurses there. Wilmington seems like a great place! I fell in love with it fast! Good luck with classes!

Info about the Wilmington area!
I was just in Wilmington last week, because I am planning on moving there as well! While I was there, I landed a job at New Hanover. I haven't started there or checked out UNC Wilmington, (although I plan to when I get there next month) but as far as things to do, there are lots of things! My husband and I fell in love with Wilmington because of the beaches, golf, historic district, etc. Also, the staff at New Hanover that I did meet are really nice and the human resources dept are really on top of things. Good luck!!!!

Willmington area hospitals
Thanks for all the info on Wilmington. Thanks to you guys, I feel more sure and excited about the move! My fiance and I plan of moving there in July or August. Can't wait for the nice weather and beaches! And landing a job at New Hanover (or one of the other area hospitals) of course!

- Question about Wisconsin nursing jobs
I live in Appleton, but I go to school in Green Bay. From what I understand, there is not as much of a nursing shortage here as there is in other parts of the country. But most of my classmates that live in the Crivitz/Northeastern Wisconsin plan on making the commute to Green Bay, Oconto Falls, or Marinette. Green Bay has 4 very good hospitals and all of them are hiring. I heard Aurora has lots of openings. If you were coming from Crivitz, I think St. Mary's would be the closest one to you. Good luck!- Willmington area hospitals
I am also curious about jobs in Wilmington. I plan to move there from Wisconsin, and I all I know about the area is what I found on the internet. I noticed a huge difference in salaries on the websites. Do you know (roughly) what a graduate RN would make? I have been a LPN for 5 years. - Question about Wisconsin nursing jobs
