Attention Nurses, Nursing Assistants, and other hospital assistive personnel!
Yes, if only more RNs, VNs, NAs, RAs, and Docs thought this way all of our lives would be so much easier. Be proud of what you do and be a TEAM!

Know it alls....
[color=#b22222]anyone else have a know it all in their class? mine drives me crazy!! he's the only male and tries to out do us at every turn. worse, he constantly argues with the instructors. i get the sense that he's talking out of his backside but what i worry about is that other students follow his advice. every time he opens his mouth i want to throw a book at him in the hopes he'll read it. today our test results from a big test came in and we were all excited but he just had to point out that he just happened to get one more point than the highest in the class. he's always complaining about the program, and constantly saying he already knows everything on the ati. i have 3 more mods with this guy. what do i do? please tell me there is one in every class!! grr!!

Certified Nursing Assistants - The Nurses think we have it so easy.
"I'm sorry but our job definitely involves way MORE physical and mentally stressful work than a nurses does, and whoever disagrees with me, so be it. I know first hand." I am an LVN so I guess I'm between both but as far as I'm concerned, we're ALL nurses. CNAs, LVNs, RNs ALL OF US. A team who have chosen to help people who cannot help themselves. If this is how you truly feel, I'm afraid you may be in the wrong profession. I appreciate the CNA. They bust butt. But some have the attitude that they do more grunt work. Well, I say we all have to do what is in our scope and if you don't like your scope, move up or get out of the profession. The patients/residents are going to feel your tension and it will absolutely affect them.

Totally Scared Silly
[color=#b22222]my advice is ignore the drama. and there will be sooooo much. i started seven weeks ago and yup, it's stressful but doable. just be a turtle. tuck your head down, remember why you're there, and just stay out of the nonsense. b/c i cannot tell you enough there is going to be a lot. but, you will be fine if you are there for the right reasons. the bad weeds themselves out the good excel. i have an amazing mentor that has taught me to be a sponge. the yellow side to suck up knowledge, the green abrasive side to ward of the b.s. and help me remember to be tough. i actually carry a piece of sponge with me! if you need help, let me know. i'm going through it too. just remember, breathe, stay out of drama, and learn. (and be a sponge!!)

LPN school supplies
I don't know if this has been mentioned but get a three hole punch. It will do wonders for your organization! And no matter how nerdy you feel, a rolling backpack is a must have. Those books are so heavy!! :)
