work, school and family balance
A girl in my classes preps her meals for the weeks on Sundays. She also works and goes to the gym regularly. I have become much more organized throughout nursing school. I make sure to plan my day. I work full time and am a full time student. It is also looking to your family for help and support. School isn't forever, and it will be worth it. So maybe just talking to your husband and letting him know you're going to need all the help you can get around the house.

They should be force to retire
Were they being reported or corrected? Anyone can make mistakes. I have to say that as much as I'm learning in nursing school, I'm looking forward to working with older, more experienced nurses. They are going to be the ones the new grad nurses are going to be looking to for advice.

Nursing Books-Buy or Rent
There are many books I wish I would have rented like OB, Psych, etc. Your patho book is a good book to purchase though. I am also constantly referencing my patho book for clinical packets, and for classes in general. However, I did not keep the patho/pharm book from my patho class. I use a different book that I find much easier to understand and is more helpful.

How to deal with unsupportive people.
My mom's mom (my grandma) told her back in high school that she wasn't smart enough to become a nurse. She needed up not going on to college. Now she is a CNA, and I really think she regrets listening to her mom and not going to college. She's been looking into furthering her career but she also feels stuck at her age and the cost of school. Like everyone else has said, prove her wrong and take her negativity and use it as motivation. You can do anything you work hard for.

Summer Microbiology!? I'm Nervous
I'm not going to be any help... But I can't believe your summer course is only 4 weeks! That's crazy. Mine is 8 weeks.

Summer students, sound-off...
I started my Microbiology class today. In the fall, I take my nutrition class and first nursing course (human development and health promotion). I'm hoping to start the program in the spring!
