One study tool I've done is...Teach it to somebody else. That means you can randomly get anybody who will listen or just have someone sit down with you and tell them what you learned at school. You may think you sound silly doing it at first but it helps especially if you use a little humor. I know it's no laughing matter but you might need to crack a smile or 2 to calm yourself down. As I always tell my classmates..."YOU take the test, DON'T let the test take you.." I wish you the bestest ( yes I said bestest) :)

Thank you very much. I guess your right. My mom said I should try and finish. The expensive school is Hiram College. Went for a visit and loved the campus environment. I've heard many good things about them. Kinda smaller and more personal. The other one is Kent State at their smaller campus. But like I said they may reject me even after I do all my pre-reqs. A girl said Kent only takes 3% of the people who takes there pre-req.s

For one you shouldn't worry too much about what to get too soon. My school kinda did the same thing to us. The only thing you may be able to price early is scrubs, and all white shoes. If your school is a technical school then they may have their own NCLEX book for you to review when it comes time to take your board. That's what mine had. Ummm...that's really about it. You don't wanna go out and by the wrong thing. Just try to be patient so you can get the right stuff. Some of your stuff should be in your tuition already like you stethoscope, B/P cuff, and the school's officially scrub uniform.

Well at least you have one less thing to worry about if somebody else chose to do her work for her. and like you said..."not your problem" :)

So I I'm in LPN school. I'm in 2nd semester. I have found only 1 school will take the credits from my technical school. This school X is very expensive and 30 minutes away (private college). There is no wait list. The program is a BSN program. They may take a few of my credits. Or School Y...which is about 15 minutes away, cheaper, but there may be a wait list, and there program is more traditional (university)..pre-reqs and all but after you do that you still have to get accepted into the actual nursing program. If you don't make it, you try again the following year... Should I finish the LPN program...should I just leave now and start over ???!!! As you can see...I need a little help !!! lol Advice is greatly appreciated. Thanx

This is so encouraging...I have days where I feel like I might be lookin into the wrong career. I'm still a student. I'm doing my LPN first because I'm not sure if I'd make a good RN. I have the heart for people just wanna make sure this is what I really want to do. I've enjoyed my clinicals so far. so we shall see. I hope you find a good specialty though because you sound like the more advanced version of myself...lol You are sure to be great nurse. I wish you best, peace of mind and many blessings :)

True enough...this thread can appear a tad discouraging. Make me rethink going for my BSN. I have the option to leave my LPN course and go to Hiram or stay and go to Hiram later. Not sure yet. But if getting a job is this difficult after getting a BSN I may reconsider...then again prayer does change alot of things. Decisions Decisions

ok I know this is super late and kinda off topic...lol but how did you like the Hiram program ? I'm looking to go there possibly this fall. I'm an LPN student in my 2nd term. I recently heard that Hiram will take some of my credits. I went for a visit and the campus was beautiful and the labs looked cool too. did you have to pay anything out of pocket ? I don't mean to be nosy..just trying to make the right choice before I leave my school for something that is possibly better for me in the long run.

I'm an LPN student at Fortis college. Now that I'm in 2nd term, I realized that they kinda only wanted our money. I even had to slow down to part time because there full-time was little too stressful. Anyways someone told me that my bio, eng, and psych can transfer to Hiram college...only problem is, Hiram is a newer program but they have a BSN program.I went for a visit. There is NO wait list. Once they sign you up, you are still on the BSN track (prereqs and all). I came across a couple issues...it sounds nice but there program is only 6 years old and their NCLEX pass rate is at 50%. That 50 doesn't sound very good but I thought maybe that's because they have only had 2 classes to graduate so far not to mention that the $29,000 is one heck of a price tag. On the other hand there's Kent State. That's where I orginally wanted to go. They are cheaper and have a 100% pass rate on the NCLEX, still their program is a little tougher to get into and the classes are much bigger than Hiram. Kent is closer and Hiram is 30 minutes away for me (kinda in no man's land..lol). Hiram said that I could leave my school and come there in the fall or just wait til I finish Fortis...Any suggestions ? Has anyone been through Hiram's program. I think they have the better reputation but would better jobs come up because hiram is on my resume and not kent. I'm just trying to be smart about my decision.
