  1. Wow....that's surprising. I was going to reschedule my class, but I guess there is no need to. Thanks for your response.
  2. Please help!!!I just started my Practicum B. My mentor is out on vacation for the next two weeks. Will my instructor need to contact her during our two weeks of class?
  3. Most of our pumps have 3 channels. We usually run D5LR on the pump as maintenance fluids and pitocin is also placed on the pump. LR is usually hanging as a bolus and is usually ran wide opened when needed. Some nurses may place the LR on the pump if the patients IV is positional and stops when infusing. There is really no way for us to get around having 3 IV lines when the patient is on pitocin.
  4. Take your time. Read each question carefully. If they offer you a break during the exam take it. Most importantly, believe in yourself and what you have learned. Good Luck Everyone!
  5. Good Luck! Try to relax. Don't let your nerves get the best of you. You can do it! :nuke:
  6. I took the NCLEX-RN Wednesday July 5th and found out in 48 hours that I passed. Seems like everything was working against me. I stayed up all night listening to fire works (4th of July) and when I did finally fall asleep I woke up again around 3 am with stomach cramps.:barf01: Of course it was too late to reschedule so I had to just press my way on. I'm so glad I did. Eventhough I had a rough night I had to focus on the job at hand.:typing Advice for those waiting to take the exam: - No matter what happens stay calm. - Believe in yourself and all of the hard work you have put into nursing as a student. Just think about it, you have been studying for the NCLEX since the first day of nursing school. - When the exam is over, it's over. There's nothing you can do about what has already been done. Try to not to worry yourself about questions missed. I haven't heard of anyone who has made 100% on the NCLEX.:wink2: :balloons: I hope this will help someone. Good Luck Everyone!
  7. Pinning Tomorrow! Graduation Saturday! Woo Hoo :monkeydance: Congratulations Class of 2006!
  8. :balloons: Congatulations!!!!...All I have left is a final (inwhich I should be studying for). Just wanted to congratulate you.
  9. I'm in the exact same situation. Graduate in May, love L&D, offered a position, scared to take it because of what most nurses say about starting in Med Surg. I spoke with the nurse manager in the L&D unit that offered me the position about my concerns. She assured me that I would see a wide variety of patients and would not be behind in skills. She stated that telemetry pts, diabetics, pts with amputations, HIV pts, and pts with many other conditions still give birth. Therefore I will still be able to work with many different pts and conditions.
  10. Although the title is biggest pay day, the question clearly reads "what is your BIGGEST paycheck as a nurse." A pay check is considered salary and this is what I am asking. Just for the record my biggest pay day is the day that Jesus died on the cross for all of our sins. Without him giving his life, my life would not be. Happy Easter To ALL!
  11. Does anyone care to share the amount of their BIGGEST pay check as a nurse? I know that most of us chose this career because we love to care for others, but a very good paycheck is always an extra incentive. So with that said, does anyone care to share? I'm not a nurse yet, 4 more weeks until graduation, but I have been offered a $5,000 sign on bonus. This is alot of money for a broke college student.
