  1. Has anyone been a school nurse in fl ?
  2. Yes i am already an rn , i was the first class the take the computerized fcca last may.
  3. The trick is, there is a lot of wait time so dont stop start studing for the next step right away. Dont wait for results or dates or permission just jump right on it and the when you get the date or permission you are almost ready.....
  4. I studied sooo hard day night i recorded myself studying out loud and played it back on my ride to work or any free time . It consumed my life for a little while but i am an rn now and it is all behind me but all worth it.
  5. Hi nat nat , yes i did. Take sherry taylor on line and in person and yes i did get a cancellation . I called the spac every day untill the gave me one it was 3 weeks out but i grabbed it.
  6. Hi nat nat yes i did take sherry taylor in person and on line
  7. I took fcca in may-july. Went to georgia for cpne prep in sept. took actual cpne in oct , passed. Then took a break for holidays xmas new years . Got authorization to test for nclex in january , had my rn degree in my hand first week in feb. just keep on track. You can do it!
  8. I didn't do a review i just did rn cram exam and rn nclex for dummies both were good and really simplified things. I went on utube lectures to review ekg and strips. But i have been an lpn for 12 yrs that helps too.
  9. Thanks, Yes funny enough i did get about 5 ekg strips and 12 sata they were both my weak areas but i was pretty strong on other things so i guess it evened out. Do review ekg strips i did just before maybe that saved me. Do sata through out your study it is all about repetition with them . Where are you in the rotation ? What are you studying now?
  10. Just got my results on BON yeah!!!!!! Thank the lord its over.
  11. I only got about 5 med questions. Not even one med calculation. I have a lot of med experience in work so felt pretty comfortable with that. More important is learn your pathophysiology to different diseases that will help more than anything.
  12. Thanks ! It is a small wonderful world . Time to party!!!! Good luck to all Keep pushing forward You will be there soon.
  13. Took nclex today. in at 8 am out at 10:15 am. Very random questions, computer stopped at 85. I felt pretty good about it . Fair amount of select all that apply. More than i hoped for. I checked Pvt got good pop up. Hope to see my made on the Bon in the next day or two .
  14. Yes i used them. They are very helpful. Everything that is bold you must know. Worth the buy .
  15. Yes i recommend taking them together for sure there is a lot of hurry up and wait involved so once you get your momentum going dont stop. Good luck to you . Look on line or get a book on delegation lots of that on there. Also go back to basics with you fundamentals of nursing book . I also used health assessment made incredibly easy by lippincott. What a huge help.....you can get it brand new at barn and noble.
  16. Congrats my friend ,I am so proud of you a bright future sits at you feet. Walk your steps with fierce determination . Nothing can stop you now.
  17. I did pass on the first time with no repeats but it is no joke, very stressful and difficult but doable if you put all of your heart and soul into it. You must know this stuff inside and out . Please do a workshop in person or on line . I did both and dont think i would have passed without them. Mnemonics were my best friend. I did them even for the labs . Just as a checkoff list if you have the steps memorized before you walk out of the room go over your checklist ( mnemonics) . It keeps you focused and on track because there will be interruptions and nerves mAy be on high alert . Good luck to all cpne testers . Study hard you can do it. If you would like a copy of my lab mnemonics i would be glad to share . I used all of the assessment and management mnemonics from sherry taylor with a little tweek here and there. Sherry's on line work shop worth every penny.
  18. Yes i agree it was a difficult site to test at . Thank goodness i passed but words of advice to anyone planning on testing at grady be fully prepared . It is a big downtown hospital and you may get any type of patient with all sorts of issues also almost certainly will have a peds patient . Know your careplans you may not even get into the room if they are not perfect . Trust me it happened this weekend. Ce are very prompt and very professional but no messing around they are all business and have little patience for those that are unprepared and like blood in the water they can smell it a mile away.
