My nursing experiences have not been the greatest. I have many family members in the medical field. All but one is looking for a way out. I'm getting out of nursing also. Thankfully, I don't have a Bachelors degree in nursing so I can still get stude...

Use something like gradreports to see real reviews of nursing programs at schools before applying. A majority of for profit colleges aren't teaching properly. Leading to a huge number of people failing Nclex. The test changed in 2013, it became much ...

Starting in 2010, the military wants a minimum of 1-2 years acute care experience before you can become a commissioned officer. As for a job there are many places to apply outside of a hospital. If the area you are applying in has too many new grad a...
Took my nclex RN last night. I went all the way to the end. I know all about the PVT. I did it for my LPN but, I don't want to check it for this exam. I studies a long time using Hurst, Uworld, and the Nclex RN Mastery app. I feel like the study mat...

It's been especially difficult studying. Without getting into a big explanation, my R.N. school was one of those scammy places with low pass rates. This was my 2nd attempt.

Take any job you think you can handle. The reason I say this is, some employers have unreasonable expectations of nursing staff. If you live in a big city, you may want to apply to smaller towns. Smaller areas normally do not have a lot of nursing ...
The quality of education for nursing at many Rasmussen campuses is abysmal. 50-60% overall NCLEX pass rates are terrible. I'm surprised this company is still in business.
Due to the high rejection rates by public colleges for nursing, Florida has become inundated by private schools. They promise a competitive education to the public schools and a chance to be a Registered Nurse. The reality is the majority of these sc...

Im only very infrequently on the any nursing forum. I dont have experience with other private colleges so I wouldn't know if students were getting passed along without putting in the effort. Ive spoken to my classmates who passed and im unable to fin...

Many of the RN schools in Florida are very new. Even my former LPN instructors were unable to offer guidance regarding private colleges. The state keeps official pass rates for every nursing program. No one tried to assist me in my choices. I live in...

I graduated from a public LPN program. No one failed the NCLEX. The public RN program has a nearly 100 percent pass rate. RN graduates are not being taught correctly for pass rates to be that low.

I was checking official nclex pass rates for all rn programs in the state for 2014. My school is maintaining 66 percent. Many others are @ 25 to 50 percent. Its down right fraudulent. I've just contacted a law firm and I hope to hear from them tomorr...

I'm not a fan of ATI. My school requires a huge amount of work besides exams and clinicals. ATI is mandatory but, it takes too much time away from studying for exams or working other projects.
When someone asks you what you do for a living, do you hesitate? I'm a nurse and an R.N. next year. It's gotten so I don't like to tell people that I'm a nurse. Instead of friendliness or even indifference I'm greeted with anger and resentment. My on...

Seems like its a socioeconomic problem. I am a little surprised that more nurses haven't encounter this. Looks like the answer is to move to an area of greater prosperity. Thank you everyone for your replies and Merry Christmas.

No one tells me anything and that's why I wanted to ask on this board. It really gets old fast. Everyone around seems to think being a nurse = wealth. I'm sure not seeing wealth from being a nurse. It may be that there is only one nursing school wher...
I ended up at what unbeknownst to me was the worst ltc facility in my area. I'm now deep into a state investigation. I'm catching all the blame. I was informed that I've potentially violated two state statutes of the nurse practice act. If found guil...

I just wish this hadn't happened on the weekend. I can't get a consultation until Monday. I'm just in complete shock as I've only been a nurse a few months.
