I recently lost alot of weight myself and must say that I look real good and I am so proud of myself. What I did was first make the commitment to myself and become healthy. The one thing I acknolwedged is that weight is only the symptom not the problem. You obviously have some UNRESOVLED ISSUES THAT YOU NEED TO DEAL WITH. As the weight begins to come off all the issues will come up to the surface and if you don't deal with those issues, the weight will be a constatnt struggle for the rest of your life. I think that you should ask yourself WHAT'S EATING AT YOU? When you find that answer you won't want to eat all that food that is making you overweight. jsteine1, I was thinking about taking some courses that apply to the BSN program I choose to attend. As for me not working as a nurse, the Boards of nursing only issues liscences to people who have valid visa's, greencards or citizens. I have gone to job interviews and lawyers and they all tell me it's impossible to get hired. BTW I was never issued a license so my situation is different. Thank you both for the advice.

Hello all, I graduated nursing program a few months ago and I passed the Nclex. I will not be recieving my liscence because of my expired visa, so I am currently not working as a RN . My dilemma is that I would like to pursue a bachelors degree in nursing and after that a masters in nursing, but the requiremnets for all nursing schools and online degree is a RN liscence, which I don't have. I would like to know does anyone on this board know of a school or a way to get into a bachelors program without the liscence. BTW I live in NY. I would really like to continue my education while waiting for my visa to be renewed. All info is well appreciated. Thank you in advance.

As a matter of fact it only takes one day to demonstrate how to draw blood and the rest should be practice until you are skilled at it. In nursing school, our instructor demonstrated it once and we practiced for a few days. I actually learned it the same day. Trust me it's not that difficult. Good luck.

Does anyone here attend medgar evars BSN program? How is it? I think I will apply, I don't want to travel to hunter to go to school, it's too far.

For those of you who are working as RN's what does it mean when they say that you work every other weekened. For example this girl told me that some RN's work like mon, tues, thurs and every other weekened, but she did not clarify. Does it mean that they will work, fri, sat, sun the following week? I'm confused.

Thank you to myself for working hard and making it. And thank you to this borad for all the support and answering to my questions. I took my exam on 6/6 like some of you. My strategy was to do questions, I did about 1,000 the most. But I focused on what the question was asking, did the answer choice relate to the stem and of course I used my nursing knowledge to critically think through the choices. I only spent 3 weeks preparing. One of the main keys is Eliminate, Eliminate and Eliminate after that evaluate. choose the best choice from what you are given. My exam was mainly priority ques, what would you do first. It wasn't easy but it wasn't terribly hard either, throught the exam I told myselfy you are going to pass this and I kept praying for 75 questions because in my mind I always knew that if you get 75 you most likely knew what you were doing and will pass. I took two hours to complete it because I said to myself you are going to get 75 questions so take your time to answer all of them the best that you can. And vawla 75 quetions and passed, God Is soooooooooooo Gooooooood. Believe in youself as I believed in myself and you will do fine, I always said that I expect to pass the first time around. I took my exam today too, 75 ques in 2 hrs.

I am so glad that I am not the only one who feels this way. The book gets real boring, I have been slacking on my studying because I don't know where to focus my sudies; book or ques. Recently I have made a descision and that's to focus on the ques only and review what I don't know. My exam is for june 6 but I am rescheduling it to june 24 which is my deadline. I need more time to really execute a plan, I have confidence thaT I WILL PASS, but I have been feeling real depressed lately making me slack off, but no more. I worked to hard to get here, I must pass at first chance. Good luck everyone. BTW Pie123, my advice to you is to believe in your abilities, take your time and no matter what don't stop trying.

Thank you for the advise everyone. As a matter of fact when I said that I take notes, I was refering to only things I didn't know and I do use a small notebook. All the advise is very helpful, I appreciate you all, thank you so much.

Suzzane4, I was reading Kaplan and it talked about clients category percentage that are tested on the Nclex. Do you think that it is a good way to base my studies? (is this the way you teach your students) Nclex 3000 has Exams on client Category's that I have been using since yesterday and it focuses on everything and so does Saunders Q&A they too base there questions that way. The comprehensive Saunders Cd does not allow you to mix questions, they only let you do it by category.
