TEAS...Does it help you or does it ruin you?
Just need to hear your opinion/s about the TEAS entrance exam. Is it really that important to be tested for reading King Philip or about a patient's history? Why do you need to balance out an equation if you mostly have to calculate the dosage instead? Why do you think that having a 4.0 GPA, done with all the pre-requisites for the RN program cannot apply for the RN because of the TEAS, is that fair or not? I would gladly like to hear your opinions :)

National University RN program beware
justmeinlv: Please confirm your work and educational background. It seems to me that you had worked or had other educational health background prior to coming in at NU. This is different case to other students at NU who don't have the same background as you are. I know for sure that NU cannot mainatin the NCLEX pass rate. Students are failing NCLEX because the teachers did not teach and properly teach them well. It is a really fast paced nursing program, but the support for students are not there. Faculties changes policies without informing students and discriminate students who can pass and who cannot. Also, I rarely hear students from NU getting hired as quick as nursin students from other schools. You know why? NU students don't have preceptorship and graduated with this huge butterflied in their stomach. BTW, glad you made it :)

National University RN program beware
Nope they cannot be transferred to CSN, UNLV, NSC because NU is not accredited by NVBON.

Accredited LPN Program?
Just make sure that when you transfer your credits to another institution, they will accept it- suggestion: inquire about it. You might be able to sit in NCLEX, get your license and work, but you might not be able to move on to RN because most school accept credits from an accredited school. You might end up starting the whole RN instead of LPN-to-RN bridge. non-accredited school-> graduate-> pass NCLEX-> LPN job.... BUT may not be able to transfer credits for RN.

TEAS online practice questions
Just a quick question to those who had taken the practice test online: 1.Upon purchase, you get 2 practice test for A or B, right? 2. Are the 2 practice test the same? If not, how different? 3. Can you pause for each category if let say, I am not ready to take the next category? Or is it continues? 4. Are you able to see the rationales in each questions? or just the review areas after the exams. What are time alloted for each categories? 5. Is there any Geometry for Math? Geology, like rocks and earth mov't? Any chemical equation balancing? 6. Are you ale to go back to the question if you need to, if time allows? FOR THOSE WHO HAD TAKEN THE ACTUAL TEST: Reading: are there more long passages than short passages (percentage wise)? Is it possible to do short passages first, then go back to long passages? Thanks a lot :)

National University RN program beware
I heard about their BSN coming to Vegas. But I don't think they will get approved because of all the complaints and litigations they have that BON knew about. Because of all the changes in their policies that they don't inform students or clear about their ever changing policy. They might grey approve if all the staff are replaced.

ATI Appeal
I just don't get it. Why most colleges now are so into ATI? Why based your grade as pass or fail? Back in the days when ATI does not exist, students were able to pass it. There's only 1 good reason to use ATI, just a help- assessment, and to practice students how to get familiar with the types and style of questions NCLEX has. Sometimes I notice that some questions in ATI was inconsistent and I have to argue or ask my teacher about my rationale. I know colleges gets their accreditation how how well their students pass the nclex. But what I think is important is how they teach their students. How the students will remember how good the knowledge they learned from that school, not all how to be strategically smart about how to take ATI style questions.

HELP: unable to transfer credits and now in debt!!!
Which resolution is better for my appeal: full refund (since I have to restart all over) or get the actual grade be put in my transcript but in condition that I will no longer continue the nursing program (kind of like leaving the school and transferring to another)?

HELP: unable to transfer credits and now in debt!!!
I hate the fact that my classmates are moving on, but here I am, stressed out. Very limited school to find how my credits can be trasferred, where to complain regarding my situation (hoping to get something positive out of it), and stuck with this balance I have to repay. Arrrghhh, I don't know what good thing is gonna come up after this. I can't seem to find solutions right now that will give me motivations.

HELP: unable to transfer credits and now in debt!!!
Ouch! But you are right. That's why I am now skeptic of the 2 private schools. I am really considering the CC, because of their long time accreditation. Kaplan might be a 2nd choice, because of the fact of their accreditation from other states and they are well established with passing the NCLEX. But then again, don't know what credits will they credit and where will get $ to pay.

HELP: unable to transfer credits and now in debt!!!
Thanks for ask the advice. Sometimes I think that if I have to retake the whole thing, it might not be to bad as I already went through it all. Its just the time, money and the disappointment from the people who is supporting me :-( I could have been helping them after finishing the nursing program :-(
