  1. When you complete CPR you will receive a card in the mail. Bring the card to the campus and they will make a copy of it. They will not accept a copy from you. And no they do not accept online CPR Also you have to hand deliver everything to the campus you are attending all at once
  2. Yes our scrubs are navy blue and we can wear Blue or white I attend Boyce campus
  3. I would only get one set of scrubs because for the first year you only have one day of clinical per week. Also I did not get a cardigan I just wear a long sleeve t-shirt underneath if I'm cold.
  4. I am currently in nursing 110 and taking A&P 2. I also am married with 2 kids it is hard and time consuming but it is definitely doable. It is all in how you manage your time. Also there are plenty of people in my program that have a family and work and go to school.
  5. I am currently in Nursing 110 at Boyce. I had a 4.0 with no sciences completed except Bio when I applied. I was in A&P when I applied and I took micro over the summer so i didn't get any extra points. I did apply to North campus but was placed in Boyce.
  6. I attended the north campus for 2 semesters taking pre and core reqs and I like it but they are pretty unorganized. Good Luck!
  7. I think all if the campuses use different books. I will gladly give you the list from Boyce if you want. That's a shame you don't have the list yet we had ours by July 1st.
  8. In Pittsburgh at the local health dept. the titers are only $15 a piece. (I checked with my insurance company first and they would not cover them at the doctors office)
  9. Boyce gave us the list of all our books with the ISBN #'s and prices. The Lipincott Package is $528 The ATI package is $173.50 Davis Drug guide $120 The Health tote is $67 Mosby Drug calc $115 Clinical Simulations $50 4 optional books around $200 total
  10. My computer is acting up sorry for the repeat posts
  11. I know these prices are crazy. I was thinking books would be around $500 total. Boy was I way off
  12. What campus are you attending? I'm Boyce
  13. Got the book list today from Boyce. Wow there are a lot of books for the first semester.
  14. I am also 36 and just starting the nursing program in august at a local community college. I am married with 2 daughters 19 & 16 (I also started young) I have been a stay at home mom since I graduated high school so I never went to college until last year (taking core and prerequisites) I always wanted to be a nurse but never pursued it because I was busy raising a family. Now it's my turn & I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I'm glad to hear others are starting later also. I think life experiences will be a great asset to nursing.
  15. Thanks sewnmom! I'm looking foward to starting nursing! Where do you get the NCLEX questions from?
  16. Thank You both because I was a little worried. Everyone I talked to had all of their classes done. I'm taking Micro this summer so A&P 2 and English 2 is all that I have left.
  17. sewnmom I'm starting nursing in the fall & I still have to take A&P 2 so I registered for it along with the nursing classes. Do you think it will be too much for the first semester? I thought getting out of the way first would work best. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  18. thomjm I am also going to attend Boyce campus in the fall. Did your insurance cover the titers? I have everything else done but those. I was going to go to the health dept next week (don't really want to but it's a lot cheaper) because I don't think my insurance will pay for them.
  19. did you have to get titers drawn even if you have records of immunization?
  20. You have to show up for Registration (May 15th for Boyce) or you will lose your seat. Along with all of the other things youve listed.
  21. I got my packet with my acceptance letter (for Boyce) We have a group registration on May 14th. There are 6 diffrent schedules you can get. It is done by lottery so you may not get to choose. Also there will be scrub fittings this day. You need CPR, Medical exam, Drug test, Criminal Record, Child Abuse, FBI fingerprints all by July 13th. Then our Orientation is August 15th Good Luck Everyone!
  22. No clinicals on Saturday for the Boyce day program. The schedule should have been included with her packet. Mine was.
  23. I also got my acceptance letter Saturday the 28th. I have a 4.0 GPA & picked North as my 1st chioce & Allegheny as my 2nd. But, I got accepted into Boyce. I did meet with the nursing dept. Monday & she told me there were lots of applicants this year and it was not a mistake. I wonder why Boyce has so many openings
