  1. Thank you all for the encouragement and advice!! I appreciate it. It's a lot to take in, and seems like such a long time, but I know it will fly by. Thank you, thank you!!
  2. Thanks! I did ask my academic counselor, and he said that I need to have my transcripts for that school sent over, otherwise it would cause problems for me in the long run. It was the only class I took there, nothing else will be on the transcript but that big fat F. He also said that it would also count as my 1 re-take, but still be factored in. He mentioned something about having it dropped after a 12+ credits of high scores? Sound right? When the time comes, I'll meet with him again and see what I can do about it. Until then, I'll try to not to sweat it! :) Thanks again.
  3. I did not drop it properly, and ended up with an F in the course. I was 18 and just wasn't thinking. Now here I am, almost 34 and serious about the prgram now and I am so nervous this is going to mess up my chances of getting accpeted. Anyone have anything like this come back and bite them in the butt??
  4. I am just heading back as well after being out of school 16 years. I also have a husband and 3 young kids! Lord tell me I'm not crazy! LOL I have always wanted to be an RN, so I WILL make it work. I have 3 semesters of core classes/pre-reqs that I need to take before I can take my actual Nursing pre-reqs, so I have a ways to go. This seems like a great place to find support. Anyway, good luck!
  5. Congratulations!!
  6. Thanks for the encouragement and advice, guys! It was really helpful. I think what I am going to do is take 3 classes the first 3 semesters and then 2 the last 3 adding in my humanities (spanish) with physiology and history with my micro. I need to throw in pharmacology somewhere in there, too. Its an elective, but I feel if the the program is suggesting it, I should do it.
  7. I think I can only handle 9-12 credits a semester. I work part time and I'm a mom of 3 It has been 10 years since I last went to college. I'm making a come-back in my 30's! LOL We shall see!
  8. Thanks for the replies! Yes, I have pre-reqs for the Micro, Chem which has a pre-req of a math that I need. I have 2 math classes that I need to take before I can take the Chem class. Man, 2 years of pre-reqs seems so long! But, hopefully it will go by fast. My current plan is to go for my ADN, but may transfer for my BSN.
  9. Hi all, I just met with my school counselor and he mapped out my pre-reqs for me. I have a few (6!) semesters to go before I can a apply, but was curious about something. When he mapped out my classes, he had me taking anatomy alone, physiology alone, and my micro with it's pre/co req math class. The other semester were loaded down. Is this a good plan? Any been there, done that experience? Should I not take other courses with my major sciences? So basically, he had 3 semesters with 4 classes each, then the following semester with Micro and a math, then Anatomy on it's own, followed by Physiology on it's own. Making 6 semesters. Sound right? Thanks!
