  1. I'm beginning nursing school next month, too. I don't have a clinical background, but I have been working in long term care for the past 7 years. BEFORE reading this thread, I thought the only things that would gross me out were bones being in the wrong place and anything to do with eyes and noses. AFTER reading this thread, my new list is so long that I'm wondering what in the heck I'm getting ready to put myself through!!!! :)
  2. I've seen a few posts recommending a rolling suitcase for use instead of a bookbag, etc. Are we talking carry-on size? What dimentions? I'm starting an ADN program in the fall, but I already have a BA degree and a master's degree in other subjects, so I do not think I will have to be taking a bunch of classes other than anatomy, physiology, etc. aside from my nursing classes/clinicals. I know that my nursing classes require a ton of textbooks, but will I be toting them all to class all the time? I just don't want to buy something that will be too big, but I don't want to underestimate the load I'll be lugging around, either. Thanks!
  3. I read up on Danskos and was prepared to by a pair, but then I saw some customer reviews on Amazon.com. Apparently, a Danish company, Sanita, used to make Dansko's shoes for them (contracted manufacturer, I guess). Dankso became popular for their quality while Sanita was making their shoes. Within the past couple of years, Dansko and Sanita parted company. Some of the reviews I saw about Dansko shoes indicated that since Sanita stopped making Danskos, the Dansko quality isn't what it used to be. With that said, I purchased a pair of Sanitas in preparation for nursing school/clinicals (I begin this fall). I've walked around in them, and so far, they seem to have great arch support and are very comfortable.
