NCLEX RN 2013 retakers
Thanks for the encouragement. I definitely could relate I have anxiety problems too. Also I had poor training on test taking strategies especially the SATA questioning. I am glad you replied here, it gave me confidence not to get any more of the online reviews because it is very pricey. THanks so much for the help.

I need help with delegation
Hi there, thanks for the explanation. 1. May I ask where the "graduate nurse" is classified? thanks :) 2. If it is an emergency case within the hospital and RN only has UAP, the delegation limitations to UAP doesnt change? thanks again

NCLEX RN 2013 retakers
Hi there, yes i'm retaking on october because I have to earn money again to be able to afford the exam (pearson fee) +the study material coz its pricey for me (esp i earn salary outside US ) I am weighing in on Hurst or Kaplan. What package of kaplan did you get the first time? Do they give good practice questions in Hurst as well? Did you pass the second take? THanks so much for your inputs here :)

To those second time NCLEX-RN test takers who were successful...
HI there thanks for your posts :) I am an international student and we didnt have ATI, only books. I plan to get an online review because I think we international students are way behind when it comes to test strategies, I am looking for a Lacharity boook because it sounds very helpful from posts i read here. I heard KAPLAN was helpful but a bit pricey.. is it worth it? any suggested reviews esp on strategies?

Failed nclex, devastated but determined to pass next time.
I FEEL YOU, i am on the same boat, graduated 2011, I failed last june2013. It was devastating because of the time and money spent but I am trying to keep high hopes and taking it again on october. I used saunders for 2months full time review and NCSBN 3weeks making up a total of 3months review. As for NCSBN, I took the $50 package. (In my opinion) it wasnt helpful because it was just repeating what saunders was already giving. and the questions were not even close to the nclex exam. I am a visual learner and unfortunately not much videos or images were shown in it. For those who like reading all throughout i guess this is more effective for them. And there were also problems with their website I was delayed for 5 days before starting. hope that helps THanks for posting this, I definitely agree with you. I know my content and I had high marks in nursing school but I think my problem was I had POOR TEST TAKING STRATEGIES. In the NCLEX exam i encountered questions with diagnosis, labs, interventions that I was very familiar with but the problem with me was giving an answer to WHAT THE QUESTION WAS ASKING and I thinks thats where SATA got me really bad. I am planning to get the KAPLAN like you are. Which do you suggest, the book or the online review? and if i choose online which package you can suggest? or heard from others effective? thanks a bunch :) Love how you said this. thanks for motivation. I agree with you too. Everybody who took NCLEX didnt get the same questions (it was lottery type I heard), that means failing it is NOT a basis of concluding that you are less smarter than the first time passers. I will retake it in october too and I was glad reading this blog. Lets encourage each other. HOpe to hear from ya'll future RNs :)

How hard is the new NCLEX 2013 Test Plan
I have the same situation as you do. Read saunders and purchased an online review. I guess you really cannot expect what they'd give because it is different per individual. they might give u a ton of OB and a ton of psych for another taker. i think it's like lottery. Lucky for those who got a lot of items on what they reviewed. I will take the exam again and thinking of what approach to take differently this time around. if there are retakers of 2013 there that passed, any suggestions?

To those second time NCLEX-RN test takers who were successful...
HI guys,I am on same boat as ya'll. I failed june 2013 and plan to retake it second time on november... I did self review and I think it wasnt sufficient. for those who did take online review and failed, but think that the online review still did help you, are u going to do online review again? and which review u taking and why? thanks

Help Applying to NY
FAILED in JUne2013, a 2011 graduate with 81% in RN exam in Philippines, did a self review for 2months...its quite embarrassing to fail after spending so much money and quitting job just to review. and it made me see that US tackle their exam very differently. I heard many filipino graduates fail also and only a few passed this 2013. those passed were using online review. US graduates have high passing after April2013 so they must be doing something or learning some strategies that we dont know. I heard HURST was good too, some say if you have saunders you dont need hurst but others say different. THey said using HURST had a very hard time catching up online. is this true? I also talked to a filipino educated nurse who passed after april 2013 exam (the higher quota) and she said KAPLAN helped her a lot. Actually she used, a bit of HURST, cover to cover of SAUNDERS, and got KAPLAN online... Its quite expensive for me really to do those so I am choosing one online. I have the saunders book already. What u guys think? lets build each other and help each other study and pass. thanks for the previous posts and tips. So we have to!

NCLEX RN 2013 retakers
Hi everyone, nurses and future nurses, I just wanna ask if there are nclex-rn takers here after April 2013? For those who did retake it and passed, what are your study tips? what are the things that you did differently this second time around in regards to your review? I am a retaker as well. I took the June 2013 and will retake the exam on october. Thanks for your help. PLease keep positive posts here, lets encourage and help each other

NCLEX RN; the day and the preparation - Foreign Grad
hi kuyafern! congrats ima glad i read your post. knowing you were educated in baguio like i was, it gave me more encouragement. i'm a graduate of 2011 and took the june nclex. i reviewed 3months full time. I used saunders , read it from cover to cover( but wasnt able to finish the cd--only 550 questions) plus i purhcased NCSBN online review because it was cheaper than the rest. unfortunately got my results, i failed. honeslty i think i was ill-prepared. i also think i didnt answer enuf questions. after having difficulty applying for the exam as a foreign nurse (same problems u encountered with prep papers in PI), i was so frustrated to fail. I will be taking it again on november and the advices you gave here will sure be very much helpful. Kaplan and hurst is a bit pricey for my budget, do you think it is a must to get these in order for a sure pass? thanks again for the posts you've written here , Godbless indeed :)

LaCharity prioritization/delegation/assignment book DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!
i agree with your rationale. when we look at AHA's CBA protocol, its most of the time stated in out-of-hospital scenario wherein you start CPR while waiting for defibrillator. If defibrillator is already present, no need to delay :)

nclex exam april 2013
AGREE ima in the very same scenario as you, graduated 2 years ago and took exam last june and failed at 75q. It was heartbreaking. I did self review with saunders plus NCSBN online review 3months before exam. i think it wasnt enuf. And I think I have to take a different study strategy this second time around. Anybody there who took it the second time and passed? any changes you made the second time that helped a lot in passing? THanks so much and cheers!
