  1. hi, I am a new grad (graduated 2 yrs ago, and just passed boards finally). I am starting my first nursing job in adolescent psych on Monday. I am so glad there is a forum for this topic. I feel like I know nothing! I just know I want to work with kids, and hated med-surg. Ally
  2. I graduated in May 2004 with an ADN and have failed Nclex 4 times so far. I have been unable to get hired as a Nurse Tech or even as a CNA so I am working as a Pharmacy Tech. I tried using Saunders book, Mosby, Nursing Made Easy, Anderson Review and most recently Kaplan, which my scores had dropped instead of improved using just those techniques. I am losing faith. I want to be excited and optimistic, but it has been so long I don't even know if I can remember the basics of nursing care. I never tested well in school, but clinicals were fine. It really sucks! My aunt is a nurse and said I need to work in the field to pass, I told her easier said than done. Sometimes I think I wasted 2 years of my life at school for nothing but putting me in debt, and then I remember how good it felt when I remember my patients telling me how much I helped them and I have HOPE! I hope you have better luck than I did. Ally
  3. What didn't you like about the Nursing Made Easy CD I have been using that with the Saunders CD ( I don't have Kaplan) and have like 5 of the nursing made easy books and magazine. I failed the first time I took the exam so now almost a year later I am hoping to try again. So if you think the Cd hinders rather than helps let me know so I can try somthing else before I test on May 25th. Thanks Aly
  4. Hi, my name is Ally (I am new to this website). I took the Nclex in July and failed and I haven't signed up to retake. Does anyone know if there is a penalty for not taking soon after the 90 days (would have been October). I just don't feel ready and can't afford spending the money unless I feel more confident about passing. I want to wait until this spring because I just moved and haven't had time to study alot. The computer shut down at 90 questions for me . . . Thanks. Ally
